This area is just beautiful and full of history. This town has done an amazing job of identifying all the historical buildings so that you learn the architect, the builder, the importance in the past. I could go back many times.

It's a very beautiful square in the heart of the pedestrian zone of the old city part of Constanta.
It's a joy to walk over here, take your time and enjoy each step, each building.
The only thing to be added is that, unfortunately, there is a lot of work which still needs to be done regarding some old and extraordinary beautiful buildings/places and I can add here: The History Museum, The Roman Mosaic zone (which seems will enter soon in a renovation state), The Lions House... and there are others too...

Always, the statue of the Roman poet Ovidiu has been a point of interest, whenever you visit Constanta. Next to the Casino Cliff, Ovidiu Square is a place where you can walk quietly.

A beautiful museum with holes in the roof, nice restaurants with ugly extensions, some communist buildings on the background. This square had so much potential, but it is completely ruined by bad management and corruption.

My origin is here, in ovidiu square, and is a beatiful historical place.
Now is a clean area, many nice restaurants, good places to take a coffee, believe me come here in this special place.
Take a coffee, take an icecream, and join the moment.
Constanta is my root , and ovidiu square it will allways be in my brain , in my heart!

Nice place to go for a walk, or a food festival or a local concert, or for eating a pizza or drink a cocktail at one of the many venues located here. Also, if you want something more "cultural" you can visit the National History Museum.
It used to have more flowers and bushes, now it's only cement everywere.

La piazza dedicata al poeta romano, relegato in esilio da Augusto. È ampia, piena di sole. Sulla piazza si affaccia il museo e, a fianco del museo, si trova l'edificio che conserva il grande mosaico a tessere bianche e nere. Poco distante dalla piazza la moschea che è visitabile dal cui minareto si gode u a splendida vista della città e la grande sinagoga ormai in rovina. Nella piazza è nelle viuzze laterali tanti locali dove si può mangiare, bere o fare un aperitivo

We went here on christamass night, and we found a very nice place.
It was a very nice surprise, big tall lighted chirstamass trees allover, many lighted decorations looking very nice on the night. Very safe, very clean and many people just enojoing a christmass night walk on a magic square. I was impressed and i say my first bravo to the authorities for this

Ovidiu Square was beautifully decorated for Christmas - very festive. The National History museum building is impressive. Unfortunately, it was closed for the holidays when I was here, but the building itself is impressive.
There are lots of restaurants around or near the square. It is a good meeting location and worth visiting.

In the summer months between June and September there are numerous festivals taking place in Ovidiu Square, organised by the city and free of charge. This includes a theatre and opera festival, and a rock, jazz and blues festival.
