This is unusual, as most Buddha statues are average size or plump, not this one! It certainly is tall and thin! Surrounding this Buddha are many other statues to see.

The Skinny Buddha alone was worth the trip for me as I have never seen anything like it but there are many other things to look at including a large lying Buddha. There is a small shrine down a path that almost makes you forget you are in the city.

Well, it’s only a huge statue of skinny Buddha. Not much more there. And not much to do. But it is quite close to the palace complex (so You probably will be in the area anyway) and it is interesting, since Buddha is almost exclusively shown as at least having a big belly. It’s not an usual sight to see him be the opposite of typical depiction.

El recinto es amplio, además del Buddha delgado hay otro tumbado y varias representaciones curiosas. La entrada es gratuita, recuerda que como en todos los recintos sagrados hay norma de vestimenta.
Es una vista rápida que seguro puedes encajar durante el tour por la ciudad y valdrá la pena. Después de tantas pagodas al menos ves este lugar sirve para ver algo diferente relacionado con la religión budista.

A fun change of pace from the highly decorated and grand places we have visited in Myanmar. A quick walk around the grounds and we saw everything. No shoes allowed and no entrance fee but there is a donation box.
Many stray puppies on the day we visited - chasing us around for snacks!!!! We we're carrying a small plastic bag with maps, water, etc. and they were SURE it was food!!!!

Rientrando in auto da Pyin Oo Lwin ci fermiamo per scattare alcune foto in questo tempio. Un Budda certamente differente, scheletrico, altissimo.

Конечно можно и так Будду представить. Он конечно был очень худым, особенно тогда, когда он почти ничего не ел, ища просветления. Ну уж слишком, слишком по современному. Автор явно сторонник стилистики кубизма в скульптуре. Сидящий Будда высотой 75 футов, построен совсем недавно, в 2011 году. Очень тощий. И был бы страшен, если бы не отрешённое лицо с еле просматривающейся улыбкой. Воздействие от комплекса я конечно получил. Яркое, эмоциональное, но двоякое.

Honestly, we have not seen any skinny Buddha before and not even throughout our trip in Myanmar. We were here during evening before we ended our day tour on our first night in Mandalay. There is a reclining Buddha within the compound. It is not something super impressive that must do in Mandalay unless it is along the way of journey with extra time. We didn’t manage to take any nice pictures since it was quite dim in the late evening.

Ce Bouddha est très différent de ceux qu'on a l'habitude de voir. de plus il est entouré de statues narrant une partie de légendes se rapportant à sa vie. Original !
