For me the absolute best massage in LP! No matter what kind of massage you choose or which lady you are assigned, I was thrilled. Strong, empathetic and competent , that's how you want to loosen your muscles.

After advice from the English-speaking girl at reception, I booked a 1.5 hour oil massage, the time was kept perfectly. The masseuse was friendly and professional. It's also nice to have a lounger that isn't directly on the floor. The price is reasonable, I felt very comfortable and can highly recommend Silver Naga.

I had a mani/pedi and a facial. friend did the whole body massage. all services were "good" but not wonderful. the place has a rundown feeling and the ladies doing the service didn't speak English. it was very cheap! overall, we were satisfied but decided if we were going to get any more spa services we would try someplace a little more upscale.

Really cheap however you get what you pay for. My husband & I went for massages. My masseuse was unwell & coughing throughout my massage. She actually had to step out as she was coughing so much. Really unpleasant. My husbands masseuse had to stop as her hands were sore.
The spa is quite dark and overall it was a really unpleasant visit. I would not recommend

Going on holidays is a luxury in itself, but having cheap massages in beautiful surroundings is the cherry on top!. My pure indulgence is spa treatments when abroad and nothing compromises that especially, after a hard day of sight-seeing and pounding the streets in hot weather.
We came here as a group of 6 (our tour manager, Rashila, negotiated a good rate with Pran the owner, who she knew from her first visit, so this was a good start. Pran was obliging, if not a little overwhelmed having to accommodate us without appointments. Still, she did this without hesitation and welcomed our presence.
Silver Naga Spa and Beauty is in a good location on a busy main road, 52 Sakkaline Road, opposite Wat Xieng Thong Temple, and a convenient stop for passing trade. The Spa is a house converted into business premises which seems to work well. The exterior of the building is dark wood with blue shutters and a ground and upper floor. There is also a stand outside with menu of treatments. The interior is spacious with an open reception area, wooden seating (not the most comfortable), a coffee table and some decorative features e.g. ceramic elephant statues, plants and traditional picture frames. A side wooden staircase leads upstairs to a small open space with lounges for foot/leg massages and a few private treatment rooms for body massages/facials etc.
Prior to entering we removed our footwear at the entrance, a respected tradition in Asian culture. We noticed a number of flipflops, and got a sense of how busy this place was in the day. Still, we were happy to be having our treatments and enjoying an afternoon of being pampered. We scanned through the menu of treatments and I chose the 1 hour body scrub, followed by a 1 hour foot/leg massage. We had a shared room and 2 masseurs both pleasant, and gentle in their demeanour. Our room was facing the main road, a little concerning about privacy and noise level from traffic, but our therapists reassured us, the outer shutters would keep noise disruption down and preying eyes out! (not fully convinced we got undressed and settled ourselves in).
We took off our robes with the therapist telling us to lie down on the couch, this was done discretely with them holding the towel while we got comfortable and in position. The treatment began with the masseur lightly kneading the body in elongated movements, this had us falling asleep even snoring! The magic of relaxation had kicked in, this was just the tonic after a hard day of touring. My anxieties and stresses became a distant memory knowing I was in a happy place.
The masseur was sweet, she struggled a little to communicate (due to limited English) but it was fine, as we understood. The massage was soothing with different techniques and pressure being applied, they checked at various stages we were comfortable. Next came the salt scrub this was amazing and we could feel our bodies tingling and feeling like silk once we washed off. The scrub was applied in circular movements, with light/medium pressure. The final stage wrapped in towels for the salt to work. The masseurs left the room for about 10/15 minutes and we soon woke up with loud bangs from the temple gongs I guess that was the timer!. The therapist came back in the room with a final step in the process giving us a head and shoulder massage, a lovely bonus our bodies felt super silky and so light.
Unfortunately, standards fell short when it came to hygiene, and a few negatives, hence the 3 star rating. After our treatment we walked through reception to the shower area wrapped in towels, being exposed in an open area wasn’t great, perhaps a screen in place would have been better. Only one shower and all 6 of us finished at the same time, so a bit of a wait. I drew the short straw, and sat waiting opposite 2 customers who were having their foot & leg massage! The shower was dirty and had a unpleasant smell, the water flow wasn’t great either, the titled floor was very slippery from the oil salt scrub, and you really had to watch your step and if that wasn’t enough I ended up with a wet towel as no dry ones left, so this didn’t do me any favours!
The saving grace was my next treatment of the 1 hour foot/leg massage this was fabulously relaxing the masseur applied different pressure on various points, kneading, squeezing, and slapping. I felt amazingly relaxed, and I started to drift off again. Luckily, our busy schedule had some free gaps, so we managed to squeeze in a couple more treatments (pedicure and leg massage), before leaving Luang Prabang.
Recommendation: Yes definitely. If the place is maintained and hygiene brought up to an acceptable level, the rating can go to 5 stars. Prices are reasonable, so excellent for the budget conscious and treatments are serviced well. If you are looking for an up market spa then this isn’t it, keep looking, there are plenty in the area. This is no high end modern exclusive spa with all the trimmings of elegance and sophistication. It’s a simple place with pleasant staff who are keen to please, in providing a good service. No complaints from us they met our expectations and it was worth their tip.
Our treatments ticked off all the boxes and we left happy, relaxed and rejuvenated. Herbal tea and tropical fruit is offered afterwards, which is a nice touch. On our last visit the owner dropped us back to our hotel as it was late, a kind gesture which was greatly appreciated. I would return enthusiastically in future if I were to visit Luang Prabang. Went on two occasions, first time back and shoulders, the second time foot massage and pedicure. Positive experience, pleased with the service and reasonably priced.

Terrible experience! I should have taken a cue from the unprofessional welcome and the tatty room I changed in. The danger signs continued when I had to walk through the public spaces in thin white PJs, having removed my bra (but thankfully not my knickers) - I’m not a prude but it felt uncomfortable. The masseuse had a strange fixation with my calves, which were pummeled more than anywhere else, and essentially repeated the same push push push movement over most of my body, with the occasional grab technique thrown in. I was not only in pain but was bored! And that is not a good sign! Yes, it’s one of the cheaper places, but I still expect some competence.

Ich hatte eine Sportmassage, da ich es etwas kräftiger mag :p Anfangs war ich skeptisch, da ich eine sehr junge Masseurin hatte. Die junge Dame hat mich aber überrascht und hat mir eine echt tolle, kräftige Massage gegeben. Würde jederzeit nochmal kommen :)
