The dune bashing was interesting but only lasts 20min. The rest of the deal is not worth it. The place we went for dinner was unhygienic and dirty. I ate only one samosa and got sick almost immediately. The belly dancer was very boring.

Most horrible experience for the first time in Dubai. We booked through Asia Pacific Travel and Tourism but the driver came an hour late and had Saadi Travels board. Dune bashing was nothing like I have read or seen on videos and was a normal car ride. Infact the dumb driver was making horror sounds to scare us which was a pathetic attempt. The camp was really far off, didn't get to do sand board, camel ride happened at last for like less than 30 secs. food was bad, belly dancer didn't do belly dancing but all other tricks. The only thing enjoyable was the fire show and the henna artist was lazy and there was no one for the costume dress up either. their free drinks or whatever got finished within 10 mins of everyone's entrance.

A wonderful experience in jeeps through the desert, especially to see a spectacular sunset. It really was a world apart! A meal, and amazing local entertainment was the final icing on the cake. A must on a visit to,Dubai.

It is at this stage not necessary for me to name the group with which i recently did the much lauded "Dubai Desert Experience". Their operation was slick, on time, well organized and the driver with whom I drove was good, much to the delight of three young attractive ladies in the middle row of seats in the cruiser. The after drive entertainment was top class which included belly dancing, skirt dancer and an excellent meal.
NOW THE BUT!!!!
Dubai is an exceptionally (!!!!!) clean city. If you see a paper lying in/on the road/pavement you actually run to pick it up so that the overall good look of the city is maintained. Now we get to the desert drive part. As with mountains,lakes, beaches, et al the desert has a unique and wonderful beauty. BUT THE FILTH FILTH FILTH lying all over at the start and intermediate stops as well as along the route was most disgusting. NO EFFORT is made by the operators/concession holders to provide any form of garbage disposal bags/bins/facilities. I even picked up an empty perfume bottle at one stop. I, therefore, appeal to his Royal Highness, The Emir to STOP this activity immediately and get the operators to go and clean the routes, have the operators educated/trained in ecology and the damage of pollution so that they in turn can pass it on to us,the paying customer. Come on you guys lead by example.
On this bases, I give the "much lauded" Desert Experience A BIG FAT NIL!!!

Yesterday my husband and I went on the safari dessert tour put on by rayna tours. The whole day was amazing! Our driver was Mustafa, he was extremely friendly, caring and a fun lad. He made conversation with us to get to know us and made the trip a lot more enjoyable! The day consisted of driving fast and crazy up and down the dunes which gave an adrenaline rush. The day ended with a buffet bbq at the camp with a complimentary camel ride, unfortunately it was dry day which meant it was a religious day where no alcohol was served n no belly dancer was there to entertain, nonetheless the trip didn't need those added extras as it was just breathtaking and amazing! If you have Mustafa as your driver, your very lucky! Tell him ally and Zara say hello :), a trip well worth doing!

We booked this to experience a bit of adventure and some traditions. We were picked up in a 4x4 and drove for just over an hour to reach rhe dunes, ( the toilet stop on the way was pretty poor) and you will get hassled by the shop staff to buy,so just walk out quickly if your not interested in buying) .
We started with a great bouncy ride in the dunes and the taken to a Bedouin camp to have some refreshments and a lovely BBQ. We dressed up in traditional costume with a real falcon on our shoulders, you can have a henna tattoo, and watch some belly dancing. After all this it is another hours journey back to the hotels. Worth a trip.

Un programa muy. Turístico ,pero que tiene dos puntos muy altos,el atardecer en el desierto es espectacular,y el viaje en 4x4por las dunas es muy bueno,mucha adrenalina.
Todo lo demás,como andar en camello en un corralito,un par de árabes bailando,un bufete de comidas es una turisteada,pero en general la excursion vale la pena

A great adventure ride similar to a ride on an adventure park!
You will fall in love with Toyota Land Cruisers, the only vehicles you cans see at dune bashing. It is like riding the waves on an ocean, only difference being, you are on sand!
Need to book in advance, but ensure you pick an off peak day - do NOT pick weekends. The Desert Camp, where they take you after the bashing can be crowded beyond imagination. Also make sure, you pick a good travel agent, so that the desert camp can also be neat and good.
Unfortunately, I ended up on a Friday and felt like inmates of a relief camp, queuing up for food/water etc. Even to get a glimpse of the belly dancer, I had to shoulder push to stay.
But overall experience was great. A must visit attraction in Dubai.

We booked with Rayna Tours for the Dunes, the city tour and the Dubai night cruise. We enjoyed all the experiences. The guides were friendly and helpful. We got a flat on the 4WD and the guide was really embarrassed. It worked out we were the last to arrive but we had the dunes to ourselves. The desert camp was well set up but be aware. The man walking with the falcon, will ask you for payment to share his falcon. The sweetcorn is delicious but not part of the dinner. The smoking area in interesting but is an add on again. The henna painting on your hand is free for a very small design in the camp. But on the boat we thought it was free but no we had to pay extra. The food at the camp was ok, but not to write home about. The food on the boat ride at night was not very nice. We ate back at the hotel, when we got back. Interesting combination of tours and we were pleased we did it all, but the food was not great. Could be improved on the food department, guides were all good and friendly and helpful.

would i be able to book as a solo traveler to share the vehicle with whoever else has booked it? i have a day layover in dubai aug 15, 2018. dont want to spend entire day in the city. also will not have a hotel to be picked up from, just the airport but could get cab to a pick up point. thanks

Hello,
I will be visiting Dubai in two weeks. I would like to know if there is a place I can drive to where I can go on my own and just rent a quad bike and perhaps ride a camel for the kids. I have done this before. The place was located beside the highway with a very tall flag of UAE - on a tall pole. I can't remember where it was though or what it was called. I'm wondering if anyone can help. I don't want to go on a tour.
