A personal telling of the stories by the people who lived through violent and troubling times. Through interactive screens the many displays show and tell the visitor the history of Medellin since 1950, and how the political classes , and subsequently the drug lords, controlled the population. Though most of the information is in Spanish there is enough translated materials to make this a very worthwhile visit.

To know more about the history of conflict in Colombia

Very interesting visit, especially hearing from the victims, analysts and politicians (on the big svreens) about their experience dealing with the long nature of the conflict in Colombia. There is a lot of information, so it takes almost 2 hours to go through it. I give 4 stars as the area and just outside the museum was very dodgy and a guy almost robbed us while we were waiting an uber. Better order and wait at the entrance where the security guard is.

Das Museum / Gedenkhaus liegt nicht gerade im besten Quartier von Medellin, nicht erschrecken.
Der Eintritt ist frei, man soll sich aber registrieren (Herkunft)
Das Museum ist zu 90% auf spanisch und noch einwenig englisch. Ich denke Leute die das Museum besuchen haben aber ein gewisses Vorwissen über die blutige und gewalttätige Vergangenheit von Kolumbien und speziell des Bundesstaates Antioquia.
Äusserst aufwühlend und niederschmetternd, keine Filter… nichts für Kinder. Da die Fotos und Filme keine Übersetzung brauchen.

Limited experience for English speakers

Most of the exhibitions in the main room are in Spanish only so I wouldn’t recommend this to English speakers. There is an app you can download which describes some of the exhibitions in English but overall this was limited.

Ce musée qui est gratuit avec des explications en espagnol, anglais et français a été conçu avec une approche originale. Des archives très intéressantes peuvent être consultées. On y apprend beaucoup de choses. Mieux comprendre la Colombie, mais aussi des solutions applicables ailleurs. Le personnel est très accueillant.

We had high expectations of this museum having visited other similar museums. I am sure it was good but there was very little translation into English, the free app did not work. I would have paid a fee for an audio guide but it was not available. A great pity as this could have been an amazing but sobering and informative experience. Sadly a waste of a morning, which does little to honour or respect those caught up in the conflict.

Todos los países tienen sus épocas buenas y malas ya sea por guerras, huelgas, hambruna, etc. Este museo invita a la reflexión en cuanto a los crímenes, asesinatos y secuestros en el tiempo de Pablo Escobar y la guerrilla.

Cómo espacio de reconocimiento a las víctimas sin duda es un lugar que vale l pena visitar, sin embargo, antes de hacerlo es recomendable llamar y preguntar si están abiertas todas las exposiciones. No es tan fácil conseguir parqueo para el auto y solo estaba disponible una exhibición.
