This was described on the show's website as a "Cirque du Soleil-type show." IMPORTANT: It is NOT produced by Cirque du Soleil! The ONLY thing they have in common with the real Cirque du Soleil is the word "cirque."
This was a complete waste of an hour I can never get back. This show had absolutely NO redeeming qualities as entertainment AT ALL: EVERYTHING was done on the ultra-ultra cheap. The sets and props looked like trash the producers found in junkyards and basements (I swear that a platform used by a guy who balanced atop some tubes while juggling was my grandma's kitchen table from 1955 with some tinsel wrapped around the legs!). The costumes were cheap and cheesy. There was no continuity to the show and the transitions from act to act were jarring and choppy; it seemed the producers just hired whoever was available with whatever kind of act and then simply threw them together with no eye towards making any kind of a cohesive show. The music was pedestrian at very best.
The budget for the whole thing - costumes, sets, props, lights, sound, music, etc. - looked like it was about $11.82, or maybe less. You'd find better production values and more professionalism in a high school variety show.
I don't like to disparage the performers because they do try, and I can't blame them for taking a paying gig, so let me just say the overall level of talent matched the rest of the production.
This show was a truly dreary and depressing affair. One of our party had never seen a real Cirque du Soleil show; immediately after this one ended, I begged her not to let this horror scare her off from seeing the beauty and wonder of a real Cirque show.

Being from Hawai'i, I was excited to think that Cirque had developed a show with a Polynesian theme. We bought the more expensive seats, and rushed to get there as we were sure such a show would be packed.
First, the expensive seats are terrible metal chairs that are about 4' closer to the ring than the cheap seats - I strongly recommend you not waste your money, as we considered moving to the more comfortable cheap seats during intermission.
Second, the setting is a small, concrete floored ring in a big top, with a stage and minimal decorations. I understand it's supposed to have a circus feel, but the colors were muted, and what few decorations were there were old.
Third, the actors and gymnasts just appeared defeated. It was a very small crowd, so I'm sure they felt like they probably weren't even covering the cost of the production (though, seriously, there was nothing to it except the performers), and it showed in their presentation. Low energy, and they seemed to just be going through the motions. The ring master was a tall white guy with what I hope was a fake pe'a tatau. He stood around banging his stick and occasionally mumbling something.
Fourth, the minimal concessions and gifts were cheesy and low quality, while being ridiculously expensive.
Some of the acrobats did a good job, and the contortionists were great. The outfits were reasonably well done, and most of those who spoke made a passable attempt at Polynesian dialects.
Folks, this is just terrible, and I'm annoyed I wasted the money on it. Please don't make the same mistake.
