Most popular fort of Pune City. Famous for its greenery, caves, Temple and food.Especially in food, jhunka bhakri the typical Maharashtrian food serves with dahi matka. Best season to visit is Winter.

I climbed the fort during the monsoon with my daughter and husband. It was an experience of its kind. There are vendors selling hot cornings, fruits and the likes along the path.
Had Kulfi under the thundering skies. Bowed before the tomb of Tanaji. There is a shiva temple there. Lingered around for sometime.
Watched the moving clouds . It was a memorable trip.

Wonderful visit. This is the perfect season to visit any Gad/ Fort. Weather is good, rains have stopped, so there's no moss/ mud etc. Less chances of slipping. Cool weather helps you walk more, faster, better.
Sinhgad is visited by many - kids from school, couples, families, friends in groups. If possible, better to go on a weekday, so that there's less crowd. One gets very good Maharashtrian lunch on the Gad - Bhakri, Pithale, Vangyache Bharit, Matki Usal, Thecha etc. Kanda Bhaji, Dahi, Taak (Butter milk) are awesome. They just recharge your tired body. The view from above is great.
One can spend either a full day or a half day as per time available. One can take his private vehicle up the fort and safely park (parking fees applicable). After that there are stone steps which one has to climb to visit various points on the Fort.

We are coming to Pune in Sept - we have two full days to explore places around Pune - our primary interest to visit forts that depicts the history of Maratha Empire Lead by Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj - please suggest which two or three ( max) fort we should choose...my choice is Sinhabad, Raigad and Pratapgarh fort - but 2 days may be short to cover 3 forts

While Sinhagad is good there is an issue of traffic on the road up to the fort. If the parking at the foot of the fort is full you car would be parked down which can go up to 2, 2.5 kms below the fort which we faced. So better option is to cover Raigad (it also has a ropeway now that will directly take you to the top) and Pratapgadh. I recently visited Lohagad and if you are going at the beginning of Septemeber when rains might still be there do visit Lohagad. Amazing place.

Hello... We are planning to go to Sinhgad tomorrow. Can anyone update and assist with the latest situation there? Is fort open? Can we take our vehicles upto the main door of fort?? What are the entry fees?
