7th century Shailodhbhava temple. Adjoins the Mukteshwara temple. Temple was locked by a panda so we couldn't get to experience the lighting effect of the eaves. Saptamatrikas on the side opposite the entrance are really well carved. Carvings are very natural. Shivling on north side has miniatures carved on it, possibly representing the Shailodhbavas. This lovely national monument should be accessible to all. Better visited as part of a Heritage Walk to avoid confrontations with self-styled enforcers.

Nice little temple showing the architecture of Odissa temples well. The place is peaceful and a park across from Mukteshwar temple. The area is neat and clean and a must visit to soak in the beauty of the ancient temples.

Parasurameswara temple is located near to Kedar Gouri temple. This temple belongs to 7th Century, it is believed that this temple was built around 650 CE and is renovated in 1903. This temple was built by Shilodbhavas, who had lord Shiva as their family deity. This temple is constructed in Nagara Style architecture. Presently this temple is managed by Archaeological Survey of India.
Unique details of this temple
1. Parasurameswara temple represents Mahadev as the lord of Parasurama and hence this temple is called as Parasurameswara temple.
2. This temple is the first in Bhubaneswar to contain depictions of Saptamathikas named Chamunda, Varahi, Shivani, Indrani, Kaumari, Vaishnavi and Brahmi.
3. Shiva is sculpted as Nataraja in various tandavas in the temple.
4. Towards the north-west corner of the temple compound there is a Sahasra linga, with its surface curved with thousand Miniature Lingas

Parasurameshwar temple is considered as one of the oldest temple in Bhubaneshwar built around 7th century. The temple is housed in a garden with a peaceful atmosphere.There is no pandas to bug you and you can spend a peaceful time here.There is a pond behind the temple where you can dip your feet.The temple architecture is worth seeing.Must visit.

This is good temple. Area was very attractive and peaceful. Garden at temple campus was very well maintained and cleaned. Good place for spending time.

We visited the temple the first thing in the morning. It was not crowded . The temple is shaped as a Shiva linga. The board states the timeline of 7th Century AD. The walls of the temple are adorned with exquisite carvings .
The temple is surrounded by a nice garden and a path that leads to Siddheswara and Mukteswara temples. Although maintained by the ASI , there is a small idol where prayers are offered inside.
The temple architecture and carvings are an example of well preserved ancient Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva in the Odishan style. Though small in size, the temple is well endowed with some beautiful carvings . Worth a visit.
