Sanur is a wonderful place

Fruktansvärt tråkig och dåligt utbud av frukt och annat.
Vi kom hit vid 09.00 och tänkte att alla stånd var öppna.
Vi möttes av antingen giriga säljare eller halv döda försäljare i stånden. Det var väldigt glest mellan stånden och de som hade öppet hade nödvändigtvis inte mer än 4 korgar med fisk.
Många stånd var stängda eller hade galler neddragna.
Tråkig upplevelse, och absolut inte värd 40 min körande som vi gjorde för att komma hit. Då hade jag hellre rekommenderat Sanur beach

Went early, not ,much going on , some stalls selling fresh veg and meats but not all hall busy with traders. Ok for a look if you have never seen farmers market overseas before.

If you stay a few days in Sanur, then take a nice walk to this market before the sun burns. The market is open from about 6 am.
It's really very clean and with aircon after renovation years ago.
Make a walk around inside and enjoy the morning life.
You can be sure that everything you buy is really fresh and good!

Sanur morning market to targowisko, które warto odwiedzić, aby zobaczyć codzienne życie mieszkańców miasta. W zasadzie tylko produkty spożywcze. Niedaleko plaży, można połączyć z oglądaniem wschodu słońca. Targowisko jest nieduże, parking przed budynkiem. Przy tym miejscu wieczorem odbywa się nocny targ.

我在這裡買了一些堅果、零食，還有椰糖。價格實惠，遠比超市、商店來得便宜。
大概AM11:00，大部分的商家都打烊。
販賣祭祀、拜拜用鮮花的老闆非常熱情，我們閒聊了好長時間。

Browsing eating bargaining and having fun, this place is worth a look not too great for the unsteady folk as it's a bit up and down but the friendly locals will help out! For the fitter of us it's brilliant

Everything was smoothly arranged from pick-up to hand-off from hotel. They had a schedule to where to go and what do to, but our driver was good enough to take us where we wanted to go.

Good and fresh made local foods with quite cheap price. Its possible to eat spicy. There are so many expensive and bad restaurants with no taste. Its worth to give it a try. A can recommand fresh fruit shakes for 15K or a local food for ca. 20K

Hi Anthony,
I am coming to Bali with my mum and brother who have never been to Asia before. We'll be spending 6 nights in Sanur (as a change from our last trip where we stayed in Seminyak...I thought something a little quieter would be better for my family). I am wanting to take them out to the night market and show them a little piece of Indonesian life and cuisine but i'm worried about what we should eat. Your review mentions the Martabak. Are there any other fail safe items that are not too 'out there'. My family aren't really into spicy or fishy flavours in their food but i'd love them to try. What would you recommend? One of us is vegetarian. We will also have our 5 yr old with us. Any tips of what we could get him to eat? And of course we all love our desserts. Thanks for your help. Dani

You will find lots of options as most of the food isn't too spicy...the sauces, chilli etc is generally on the table to add yourself. You can also request it to not be spicy. There are also plenty of vegetarian options everywhere in Bali - including the market. Most vendors speak some English or there is always someone around to help translate if needed. Simple dishes include nasi Goreing (fried rice), Mie Goreing (fried noodle), soups, capcay (vegetables in broth), fried finger food like tofu, Tempe, sweet potato, fried banana and spring rolls (lumpia), satay. At the martabak stand they also have Terang Bulan which is a Delicious sweet pancake ...you have the choice of adding peanuts, chocolate, banana etc topped off with susu (condensed milk) and there is also a stall with sweet local dessert.
I'm sure you'll find plenty to suit everyone in your group! Enjoy 😋

Most seem to understand vegetarian as I eat most vegetarian here!

Not on this market that I know! However if you are after real art products the best place to go is Ubud or Mass. I classify art here as in good paintings, woven and hand made batiks, silk products, nice carvings. Obviously the prices are well above the street art you can buy anywhere in Sanur or Kuta. Also statues (local stone) in Batu Bulan and some exquisite wooden furniture along the road to Ubud and further North. Around Ubud and Mass you may buy some gold and silver jewelry and or table ware and intricate silver statues. Again the prices are of course adjusted to the quality. If you are after modest type of local art ware, go to the Mata Hari shopping center in Kuta or any other center, you will find all sorts of artsy nick knacks, 13 in a dozen. Most of all just enjoy the "LOOKING AROUND" and make sure what you want.
After all art is in the eye of the beholder.

The Sanur morning markets open at 8.00am - closing at 5.00pm. Some stalls were still opening around 10.30am. There are stalls with children's, ladies garments, a painting gallery worth a visit - if the artist (elderly chap) is there worth watching him paint. Also worth a look for those who wish to purchase metal ornaments ie chooks, owls, geckos, wind chimes.
