I was really looking forward to visiting this museum and viewing the Balinese paintings and wood carvings, reputed to be the largest and finest collection in Bali. The gardens and building are impressive, architecture very similar to nearby temples. I didn't manage to see all the displays, various classes, a hot day, high humidity and the inevitable Balinese penchant for steps limited my viewing. Fascinating museum and a must visit if in Ubud.

It is a nice museum with garden to visit when in Ubud. Worth it. Just note that there are two types of entrance tickets, one drink included, tea or coffee for about 95,000 IDR , and the other drink and lunch included for about 145,000 IDR . So you have a choice.

The art work dates back to the 1930's at the oldest, it wouldve been cool to see some older items. Nevertheless, it was beautiful and informative about Hindu and balinese culture. Lunch was included with our admission and was delicious.

4 buildings focusing each on specific balinese styles, interesting both in terms of art history, and understanding of daily life of balinese people along the centuries.

Interesting range of Balinese paintings and some wood carvings, well displayed in 3 or 4 buildings, in very nice landscaped gardens. Right in the middle of Ubud.

The ticket might seem expensive, but it's worth it since I'm not usually into museums. The museum is actually pretty good to pass the time in Ubud, especially if it's raining. Plus, you get a drink, some snacks and yummy banana fritters for free!

Good historical museum we have visited in Bali. Not an expensive entry fee but everything you get is totally worth it.

Small entry free but can be used on lunch on in the cafe. Such a great experience showcasing some amazing pieces, some dating back to the 1600s. Will definitely be recommending

The museum has many beautiful Balinese works of art that rival most European collections I have visited. It includes old and new works and provides a history of art on the island and explanations of what is depicted in many painting. The gardens between the buildings housing the art are peaceful and picturesque too.
A bonus was the drink included in the ticket price, which we were surprised to see also included some fried bananas – made the admission almost free. Highly recommended and I will return before I leave Bali as I ran out of time to see one of the buildings.

No, I don't think so. But you don't need one, it's well laid out and self-explanatory, you can wander round at your own pace.

Hello! We’ve been here for the last 7 days. It is consistently hot (28 to 32 degrees) and humid. We are in Ubud.
It rains at unpredictable intervals for unpredictable amounts of time. So far we’ve only seen a few showers and a couple of sudden downpours. The temperature drops for these. Then the sun is out again and it’s quickly hot. I don’t know if the last 7 days is normal though!
