Hello All!
I recently spent two weeks in Bali. The first week I spent was at the end of March this year (2014) and then I left to Sumatra and Java for a couple weeks and returned to Bali later in April this year (2014). Upon my arrival, my hostess had arranged a driver if I needed to sight see around the island. This was remarkably helpful because when you arrive, you will find there is a flock of men who are more than happy to harass you in hopes of getting you to pay them to drive you somewhere near by.
The man I met was Kung Saga. Immediately upon meeting him, he was so helpful and friendly. His English was excellent and his ideas for day tours or even short tours were so fantastic. He asks you a series of questions to gauge what priorities you are looking for in your trip and he caters to those very intently. In talking with him (he could easily become a good friend if you see him for a day or two) it is clear that he has worked with "Westerners" for a long time. He knows what tourists value, namely, safety, trust, reliability.
When I met Kung Saga of Kung Saga tours, he was happy to take my phone number and provide me with a business card in return, plus was trying to cater to the easiest way to contact me. If you have Whatsapp, that was the most efficient way to get a hold of anyone without having to buy a phone card or if you had a locked phone. Kung Saga was also very helpful in trying to get a phone set up with a local card so it was more cost-effective for a new tourist.
In the situation that he can not personally be with you to escort to from village to village or attraction to attraction; he will arrange for one of his equally as reliable friends, cousin or brother (Made Saga, pronounced Mow-de) to take you sight seeing. If you are up for it, he is also comfortable taking you on tours with other tourists and trying to get you the best deal for your dollar. I put Kung through many difficult travel requests and arrangements, many where I was resting all of my trust and ability to accomplish anything with him and he NEVER fell through. He always found a way to help me out and keep on top form. It was always so impressive.
Kung Saga of Kung Saga tours is really one of the most stand-up people I have ever met. I was so happy to have met him. His remarkably thoughtful and courteous outlook is refreshing while you are traveling in a place that could just as easily have been difficult and challenging to get something accomplished.
