하솔 왕 야빈이 살았던 성을 볼 수 있고 솔로몬이 세웠던 철병거성도 볼 수 있는 곳이다 이후 북왕국 말기 아합왕이 만든 수로도 멋지다 그러나 인간이 만든 큰 성도 결국 앗수르 강대국에게 망한 곳이다

Not as big as many other National Parks such as Metzada or Beith Shean but definitely important and therefore worth your time.
And not only if you love history and Archeology.
I was there at sunset, as a closure in a day full of sites and natural reserves and it was the perfect ending.
I have attached some pictures to give you a feeling of the place.
It's on your way to Kiriat Shmona and the Northern Galilee, don't miss it.

This is one of the oldest and richest archeology sites in Israel. It really gave me a visual of ancient life in Israel and a desire to open up the Bible in which the city is mentioned many times. Biblically it was one of city's conquered by Joshua and one of the 4 cities fortified by King Solomon.

אתר מתוחזק היטב, מלא בהסברים מרתקים ומובנים. עתיקות מתקופת אברהם אבינו ולפניו, דרך ימות יהושע, שלמה ואחאב ( ישנה מערכת מים מרתקת משוחזרת של האחרון) כל הממצאים עם הסברים מפורטים ומענינים.

Not amazing as most of the other National Parks in Israel, like Metsada, Avdat, Beith Shean and many others.
First, it is much much smaller.
But then it still is very interesting as it is rather different for its historical significance as well as the architecture, the colors of the stones and the structure of the remaining.
When you're on your way to the Northern Nature Reserves after the heavy January rains , or the other National Parks, like Nimrod Fortress (much bigger and impressive) or Gamla, you can stop there for half an hour and learn a little more about Israel History.
And if you have the Matmon Card which gives you a free entry, tehn all the better, isn't it?

The good news is that it is wheel chair friendly. The bad news is that it is not as interesting as some of the other Archaeological sites. It is extremely cold and windy on the tell and maybe 4 areas that pique the interest one of which is the unusual water system ( which can be seen from a platform above it if you don’t feel up to walking down steep stairs ) There is a volunteer guide - Joe who is a spry 83 year old passionate about archeology and enthusiastic about sharing his knowledge. We were delighted to have him show us around.

Tel Hazor is located in the Hula Valley, at the foot of the Galilee mountains. It is situated along the ancient road and linked the land of Israel thru Lebanon's Beka'a Valley to Babylon. Natural conditions led it to become the greatest city in the land of Israel of the Canaanite period.
Hazor, consists of an upper city and a lower city. At one time, the city's population was about 15,000.
An Irish scholar first identified biblical Hazor in 1875.
There is a walking path, picnic tables, a lookout, toilets and parking there. Very interesting to visit.

The ruins of Tel Hazor were very interesting. To see dwellings with dining areas and ritual baths brought the history of the Bible to life. It is amazing to see how people lived over 2000 years ago.

No shade, midday and a searing sun. The site was 1500 BC roughly with some great views. There was a deep stairway down to their water source - a massive hole in the ground. When we got to the bottom the excavation was not finished and their were buckets for you to take soil back up the stairs - give me a break :).
Tel Hazor was the capital of the Canaanite kingdom before the arrival of the Israelites, and continued to be an important city during Biblical time. 21 layers of settlement from the 3rd millennium to 732 BC have been uncovered. The water system was accessible by a 40m shaft with a spiral staircase. Yigael Yadin (of Masada dig) dug here. Tel Hazor is the largest archaeological site in Northern Israel, featuring an upper tell of 30 acres and a lower city of more than 175 acres. It is well worth a visit.
