Confiamos en Lion King Adventures para nuestro safari en Tanzania y desde el minuto 1 fueron muy atentos con nosotros. Estuvieron abiertos a todas las modificaciones y cambios y siempre aconsejándonos. Nuestro guía, que además hablaba español algo que no todos ofrecen, se ocupó de que todo estuviese a nuestro gusto, nos preguntaba qué tipo de animales o escenas queríamos ver durante nuestro safari y trabajó duro por ello. Teníamos toda el agua que necesitáramos durante el safari y todos los días parábamos a comer un rico picnic, nada de bocadillos, con cervezas y demás, hasta nos hicieron un vino para nosotros! Los coches también estaban en buenas condiciones, teníamos enchufe, el techo superior... Tuvimos mucha suerte de dar con ellos, los recomendaremos!

Súper fun, bucket list experience - a safari to the Serengeti!
Immanuel Chamboa was our guide and very knowledgeable about all the different animals (and major props to keeping all those roads straight because there are a lot)! I would definitely recommend requesting him if you can, we had great chats and laughs the whole 5 days. He was an outstanding guide!!
Email was very quick between Lion King & myself. Lodging was standard and comfortable. Can’t go wrong!

Lovely Safari with perfect help with the booking, before arrival and perfect help from our Guide Fred Elias.
We visited Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Lake Manyara, Tarangire in 4 days. Many hours in the car but ohhhhh what lovely scens with a lot of beautiful animals and lovley surrondings. Perfect help from the office before arrival wiht helpful informatin regarding Visa, what to bring and how to act in Tanzania. Also great help to change the accomodation so we could have the hotels/tents we wanted.
Picked up at the airport in Arusha and after that we were taken care of in a perfect way until the end of our Safari.

We are a couple in our 30s who went on safari for the first time. We selected Lion King Adventures due to the positive reviews, and we were not disappointed!
Our guide, Khalifa, was very communicative, professional, and knowledgeable. It's clear that he's very passionate about animals and nature. We felt very secure with him as a driver - he was skilled in driving safely, navigating, and watching out for animals at the same time. Khalifa very kindly shared his binoculars with us, as well as his books.
Animal-wise, we got to see the big 9! Plus many, many other animals and special animal kingdom moments. There is no doubt that you will get to see a plethora of elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, lions, and more.
We also really liked the service we received from the company. Responsive and helpful communication, and very accommodating to our needs. Also, they arrange nice lunches on the safari. Whle other groups had basic sandwiches provided in cardboard lunch boxes, we received "hot food" lunches (e.g., stew and rice) served on a tablecloth with real silverware. This is a special touch arranged by Lion King Adventures that we greatly appreciated!
We liked the itinerary they planned as we got to see a variety of landscapes - every day was something different. Our expectations were generally exceeded in terms of accommodations - all of them had very nice settings / views. Our tented camp in the Serengeti was a pleasant surprise as the tents themselves have hot water for showering, toilets, running water, electricity, and wifi. We went during low season so it was much quieter at the lodges. At one camp, we were the only guests! Wifi can be a challenge at some of the hotels, but we expected this.
As a side note, we really liked that Lion King Adventures is a local / family-owned safari company. Our guide mentioned that the company really cares for its employees. One example is that the company tried to help the guides during COVID when there was no tourism - this made us feel that Lion King Adventures is a caring company that supports local people.
We would definitely recommend Lion King Adventures!

We had a great time doing a private Safari in Tanzania thanks to our guide-driver Shafino of Lion King Adventures.
We visited 4 Safari Parks (Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti, Lake Manyara) in the span of 4 days.
We saw all of Big 9 animals and many more. Every park was beautiful in its own way. Ngorongoro Crater especially had a high concentration of animals on such a small area (20km diameter), including all the main animals, as well as beautiful flamingos and rhinos. Lake Manyara had least amount of animals, mainly monkeys, but nature itself was beautiful with high dense trees and a valley of dead trees as the salty lake is expanding.
Serengeti is the largest park and this is where we saw a leopard and a cheetah, who are very rare and difficult to spot. Leopard just killed a baboon and was resting with his prey on branches of a large tree and all the other baboons got stock above him at the top of the tree for hours not dare to come down. In Serengeti we stayed at a luxury lodge right in the middle of the park and it was a bit scary to hear hyena "laugh" at night right outside your lodge.
Tarangire has a lot of animals but also very picturesque views and baobab trees.
Without our guide Shafino we would have not seen half of the animals that we saw as they are difficult to spot for an untrained eye.
Organisation of the safari was perfect, we were always on time and kept on the schedule.
Accommodation was okay, nothing luxury for the most part (except Serengeti), but that's the package we chose. You're so tired by the end of the day anyway so just want to eat and sleep with a new start around 7.30-8am the next morning.
Lion King provided complementary beers and wine in our Land Cruiser jeep which was a nice touch.
The jeep was in good condition and comfortable with a roof that opens for best viewing experience.
Overall very happy with the safari experience with Lion King and our guide-driver Shafino.

I purposely waited a couple weeks after our vacation to write this, as I really wanted the full scope of what we had experienced to fully set in. The word "wow" doesn't come close to doing it justice.
I will start with the disclaimer that I am fully aware how difficult it's going to be to effectively express just how happy we were with our experience without it coming across as hyperbole, but I'll try to do my best.
My wife and I did a two week luxury safari and beach excursion in the middle to end of September 2023. From the moment we arrived it was apparent that we were in good hands and had made a wise choice opting to go with Lion King Adventures.
Our first week was the safari portion of the trip where we visited Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara National Park, Serengeti National Park, and Ngorongoro Crater. We had an absolutely fabulous time in each park/reserve and saw more animals than we could have ever hoped; the Big 5 included! Each stop was unique and at times it felt surreal. The experiences are ones that we'll cherish forever. Every camp/lodge we stayed at was charming in their own original ways and the staff at every one we stayed at were incredibly friendly and professional.
Our second week was spent at the Grand Melia on Zanzibar. We were put on an earlier flight than what we booked, and the team at Lion King arranged for an earlier airport pick-up in Zanzibar which was greatly appreciated! A more relaxing, peaceful experience I cannot imagine. The surroundings were breathtaking, the food and drinks were delicious, and the staff were great. A terrific way of winding down and decompressing after all the excitement of our safari time.
Now we come to what I would consider to be without a doubt the most important part of this review, a few words about our tour guide, Joseph. I'm finding it difficult to put into words just how instrumental Joseph was in our enjoyment of our trip. I can't fathom the idea of someone doing a better job of guiding us through one of the most memorable experiences of our lives. Joseph is kind, funny, insightful, and knowledgeable. He always went the extra mile to ensure that we were well looked after and getting the most out of our experience. Truly a special person that I'm proud to now call a friend. We feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to spend our time with him.

The trip was amazing and we got all the big 5 within these 6-day safari. Our safari guide Ozzie was professional and explained most of the knowledge and information of the wildlife to us so we can learn more about what they are trying to do and how they mostly act like in the nature. He also provided us great suggestion for our day plan so that we can smoothly enjoy our safari moment. The weather was great and we took so many nice pictures. Thank you for giving us a great experience in Tanzania.

We had a great time with Lion King for our safari. We did a lot of research before hand as there are a lot of companies offering safaris now. From the start Lion King we’re very good in terms of their communication. Macha was our tour guide and he was amazing. The itinerary was tailored to our exact needs and ran like clockwork. Macha’s knowledge of the animals and the parks was fantastic. We’d fully recommend them if you are looking for a safari provider in Tanzania. For information we did a 3 day safari- Serengeti and Ngorongroro crater.

We had the most memorable experience of our lives on our Tanzanian safari with Lion King adventures. Our guides, Mwita and Fred were simply amazing. They were very knowledgeable, funny and considerate. They went out of their way to make us feel right at home, the communication was great and enjoy the trip with our kids. Would highly recommend both Mwita and Fred!!
Every day of the safari was magical..from the sheer natural beauty of the country to the scores of animals we saw on our drives. We got to see the Big 5.. mission accomplished!! We also encountered countless gazelles, wildebeests, zebras and elephants so close that you could literally touch them. Also got to see the Great Migration in action with thousands of wildebeests crossing in front of our jeeps. We saw all the big cats up close in action which was amazing and exhilarating.
Our accommodations at all the locations and the food was great. Special mention to Kubu Kubu tented lodge..we could see elephants, giraffes and gazelles outside our room!
I will highly recommend Lion King Adventures. Right from the initial booking and throughout the trip, everything was seamless and we did not have to worry about a single thing. Everyone was so kind and personable and made our trip memorable. Cant wait to go back soon!!

On a basic Tanzania camping safari, guests sleep in private tents in designated campsites in or near national parks. Our safari crew sets up the camp and prepares all the meals. Facilities at the campsites are basic. They include washrooms and showers. All your food is provided.

In all the public campsites we went to there were showers and toilets, with separate male / female blocks. Some showers (a few) had hot/warm water, most had only cold water with varying pressure. We found that washing Indian style worked best; a plastic bucket and ladle (i.e. fill up bucket with water, soap up, wash off with ladle) simply to overcome the pressure issues, esp when there's many people. You can get a plastic bucket on the road.
Toilet paper is "sort of" provided at campsites - not much at all and usually only when the toilets are cleaned in the morning. If you are going in via Arusha or any city stop at a store and buy a supply; there's plenty around (contrary to some reports) so don't waste the space in your baggage!
I'm assuming you're going with Lion King. They have powerboards in the car that work, so if you take adapters your devices / cameras will always be fully charged. At campsites (as is usually the case) there are some powerpoints but demand/competition is high.
Food, drinks and water through Lion King are totally adequate; their meals are huge; the campsites don't have stores or kiosks to get anything but honestly, you don't need them.
The tents and bedding Lion King provide are adequate, but if you feel the cold and are going near Ngorongoro Crater think about taking your own blanket / sleeping bag, it can get cold. Have a look on their website, it's an accurate list of what goes with you in the car.
