Beautifully situated in the mountain forest, lovely scenery, you can shop and buy your fresh vegetables and dairy products, kids can see different kind of animals and do many activities in the playground

My heart breaks at the state of the animals - it was freezing cold (snowing) and the animals were freezing. A chimpanzee was huddled in the corner of his cage shivering - absolutely no cover, not even hay, just cement and metal in his cage. These are social animals who suffer alone, and this chimpanzee was both alone and freezing. Only the deers had a room they could go into for warmth, the rest (Lama, kangaroo, etc.) were completely exposed to the snow and wind in their miserable cages. This is a torture chambre for animals!

Went with my family, who are locals, to buy vegetables. We left with the decision to NEVER BUY FROM HERE again because of the state of the animals, in particular the baby kangaroo. The kangaroo was obviously EXTREMELY SICK and was shaking (We were so alarmed we asked someone who worked there what was wrong with him, and he did indeed confirm that he was sick), there was feces all over the floor, his water was filthy, and he obviously does not like the food he was being given and preferred a piece of cabbage a kid gave to him. Sad to see this kangaroo caged in such conditions. Please remove these animals.

The farm is located in a mountain region, but at the same time not far from the coast and the main city. This is the nature of the country. It's a great place for toddlers and small kids, it lets them discover the domestic animals, and be close to them, feed them... At the same time, the farm is part of a domaine with agricultural lands, and the owners (jesuits) sell the vegetables they collect in a shop inside the farm. At all, the ambience is great for kids, parents, families... if you go once, you'll do it again at least once a month.

Not our visit to Ferme Mar Chaaya, my kids really like it. They like to feed lettuce to the animals which they get at the entrance for 3$ the bag. The farm has Lamas which is not common in Lebanon in addition to other type of animals which are relevant to a farm. The place is spacious it has a small chapel, an indoor space for different functions and a bigger one outdoor. Recommended if you are close to Metn/Broumana and want a change.

We visited during the month of July. My 10 year loves animals and she was excited to see lamas, deers, etc. Their condition in my opinion could be better... The horses it wasn't possible to get close to their stables so we only saw them from a far distance... nothing much to add.

A huge domain owned by the convent of Mar Chaia , with enough and vast area to expose farm animals and to plant all sort of vegetation.
In the heart of a pine forest , the convent has superbly managed to create enough parking spaces.
Often families bring their children to check and feed animals, in a well secured area even in the presence of animals, Today the exposed animals are:
horse
pony
chiks and chicken (local and rare species )
rabbits
baby cows (used to have cows but moved them to another location)
an eagle
a kangaroo
rain deers
muttons
goats
two or three lama
two or three monkeys
some peacocks
turkeys
lot of birds and love birds
a parrot
turtles of all sizes
pigeons
(used to have pigs but for sanitary reasons moved them away)
(used to have fishes and hamsters with sea turtles but closed the whole section)
PS 1/2: the place is usually free for entrance on am - on some occasions the convent organizes entertainment for kids -those are for a fee
PS 2/2 : the shop at teh entrance of the farm has all bio - local - terroir producst and what we call mouné products
they do also have the farm's hand made dairy products and even meat upon availability (including porc)

The farm experience is wonderful for the kids. They love seeing the animals and feeding them. It’s one of their favorite outings. Also fruits and vegetables are excellent and so fresh.
