Good for walking and relaxing, clean and safe.
Pet friendly area. Because the park is too small sometimes it's crowded. Also there are many rats and mice running around in the park, especially at night.

I didn't know there was a park in the concrete jungle of condos in Makati.While visiting the Legaspi SUnday market we chanced upon this park on the way to finding a washroom/toilet in the vicinity. This is a welcome respite to the hassle and bustle in the area.

Just beside the Active Park is another activity laden centre. Here you could see fur parents bringing along their own pet or cat. During summer it could be really hot to enjoy things. Place was not well maintained.

The park is in a terrible condition. Small, ugly concrete constructions have been built at random here and there, to house god knows what. Large portions of the park are blocked by metal palissades, supposedly for renovations, that have not progressed for years. Behind the palissades, there are now people living in shacks, who hang their laundry all other the place. At least 1/3 of the park is disfigured by all these. The park used to be lovely, and still houses beautiful trees, but the way it is maintained is shamefully negligent. The organisations which are supposed to maintain it should be embarrassed by this display of carelessness in one of Metro Manila’s prime areas.

Il Legazpi Park è un rettangolo nel centro di Makati suddiviso in 4 aree:
- Washington Sycip Park: dedicato a Sycip
- Crane and Turtle Park: dedicato ai Jap
- Active Park: area per fitness
- un parcheggio dei giorni feriali è usato la domenica per il famoso Sunday Market.
Mi informo su Wikypedia su chi sia stato Washington Sycip: un banchiere, forse un filantropo di larghe vedute. Copio:
“Washington Sycip è stato un imprenditore e banchiere filippino di origini cinesi, fondatore della Sycip Gorres Velayo & Co. e della Asian Institute of Management.
Il parco di Washington Sycip locato a Makati è stato nominato in suo onore.”
E' un bel parco ben tenuto, dove fanno jogging e portano a spasso i cani proprio come descritto in internet.
C'è chi riposa sulle panche leggendo libri, o fa picnic, o fa dichiarazioni d'amore.
E' un parco tipo 'giardino botanico' con le varietà di alberi con le loro etichette.
Vedo un Eucalyptus tutto colorato che pare pitturato ed un Rubber tree atipico.
C'è una rappresentazione di mangrovia fatta con dei tubolari e la spiegazione dell'artista – Impy Pilapil.
Su un ramo alto di un albero vedo appesa una forma strana, che suppongo sia un alveare, ma non vedo api.
Su una panchina un gattino dorme tranquillo, davvero incurante dei cani e della gente che circola.
Mi siedo accanto e muove la coda se gli faccio 'mieo'.
Deve essere una zona franca per gatti, visto il murales.

Lots of trees here. Each tree has info about it. There are also interesting works of art here. It is a small park, but it is packed with awesomeness. If you love dogs, drop by this place early in the morning and you will see lovely dogs talking a walk around the park. The cats here are regulars/residents; they are clean and well-fed. You can catch them only in the morning or late in the afternoon.

Take a stroll through this beautiful park and you will instantly restore your soul and bring you peace of mind. The beautiful Koi Pond in the center offers you a moment to calm your thinking and just walking through the greenery to see the different species of trees is amazing. I love the large stone turtles. It is well worth the visit and does justice to the man in which the park is named after.
