It was my first time doing the photoshoot in Tokyo. The experience was incredible n memorable from the moment u stepped into the studio where u were greeted with smiles n friendliness of the make-up artist, Chika and the photographer . Everyone were professional . Would recommend to friends.

What an incredible experience! The staff was exceptionally professional and kind, and language barriers were effortlessly overcome. The entire experience surpassed our expectations—from wardrobe to makeup to the photographer. My daughter and niece now have breathtaking pictures to cherish.

The staff were friendly and accommodating. Everyone were professional, from the makeup artist to the hairstylist to the photographer. They helped me along the way, especially it was my first time doing a photoshoot so I didn't have any idea how to pose for the camera. The studio is also clean and spacious. There is a waiting room with free water, a changing room with some free-to-use products after the photoshoot. The makeup room was separated as well as the wardrobe area. It was organised. There were plenty of outfits to choose from! 😍 Also, they lend me a charger as my battery was dying. 🤭
Forgot their names but I wanna thank them for the wondeful experience!

If you‘re looking for a memorable kimono shooting with different styles and settings to chose from and stunning photos I highly recommend booking with Esperanto Kokoro Kyoto Okazaki Studio.
I booked only two days in advance and was on a tight schedule too but the staff was very kind and helpful.
I chose the Oiran makeover plan A which includes 3 prints in the end and I opted for the data as well.
I could choose the kimono, hairstyle, make-up style and colors and the hair accessories. The transformation was amazing and I absolutely loved the result. During the shooting the photographer helps you with the poses so you don’t have to worry about it. After the shooting you can take some selfies too in a dedicated booth.
I wasn’t sure if a kimono shooting was something I would enjoy but I‘m so happy that I did it.

普段から変身体験で利用させてもらってます。普段の自分では考えられないくらい綺麗に変身できることもあり、昔に思い切ってエスペラントのモデル募集に応募したことがあります。でもやっぱり綺麗で可愛い子しかモデルはできないみたいですね。何年経って待ってもモデル募集の結果の返事は来ないし、思い切って募集した自分がバカみたいでした。そりゃモデル募集するなら可愛いくて綺麗な人の方が映えますもんね。
普段利用する分には楽しくてステキなところなのになぁー。小道具も手作りだし、スタッフさんは活気があって明るいし。でも利用する度にモデル募集のことを思い出して悲しくなります。
またステキな企画があれば利用します。

It's overwhelming when you first show up because you decide on your hair style, make up, and colors of kimono prior to the shoot. Keep in mind the color scheme of the photo shoot you chose so you can clearly decide. (I was overwhelmed so I had the makeup artist decide almost everything)
The makeup and hair gets done very quickly and efficient! (About 20-30 minutes) I had changed my mind about having bangs for my shoot and let the make up artist know. She was very friendly about it and changed it for me and made me feel very comfortable.
They allow you to take selfies with your phone in the waiting area. Take advantage of this time! The photographer will pose every limb of your body to create a beautiful shot so you don't need to worry about how to pose your fingers or hands or anything. However the face is all you so practice smizing in the mirror!
If you come with a friend, the photographer will take some pictures with you and your friend :)
After the shoot you pick your top 3 photos for them to photoshop. I brought a USB and purchased all the other pictures and had them upload them to the USB versus give me a CD. The other pictures are not photo shopped but they create such a beautiful shot that you usually don't need much of a touch up anyway.
I recommend this for anyone who wants a gorgeous photo!!!!! I have no regrets!

The Oiran experience at Studio Esperanto is easily one of the coolest things I’ve done in a long time. I chose their “Plan C” which means you get to do two different styles and shoots. When I placed my reservation, I didn’t specify anything outside the information you have to provide, so I greatly appreciate the flexibility when I asked if it was okay to do one of the shoots cho-han style and one regular oiran on the day of the shoot. The whole experience is incredibly professional and thorough and both the stylists and photographers take very good care of you and make sure you are comfortable at all times. As for the styling part, you get to pick and choose what sort of makeup, hair accessories etc you want to wear, but the stylist will help you out if you need it or want to. The photographer will also very carefully direct your poses, so you don’t have to worry if you’re not too used to posing in front of the camera - these people know what will make you look good. The only challenge is that you *will* have a hard time selecting just a few shots afterwards! (This is where you should also note that it would be wise to set your budget a bit higher than the actual cost of the plan, as there is a very good chance that you will want some additional shots or the full data set. I got one extra edited shot and all the data and it was worth every single yen)
A few practical notes: I was there a bit early, and that was probably a good idea, as the studio is a little bit off the main road in the area, also there are a few forms you need to fill in before you start. When booking, also remember that Japanese prices are usually listed tax exclusive. This wasn’t a problem in my case, but based on experience, many people don’t seem to be aware of this. Language: I was able to get by with the somewhat limited Japanese I speak, but I wouldn’t worry: the staff are incredibly helpful and you should get by with English just fine.
Bottom line: amazing, fun and creative. If I’m ever in the area again, I’ll most certainly want to check out one of their other plans.

The Oiran Hakama Couple experience was out of this world! There are similar studios in Kyoto who offer but Studio Esperanto by had the best makeup and photography quality. Our couples shoot took approx. 3 hours and was so fun! If you adore Japanese culture and traditional dress, this experience is worth every single yen! The highlight of our time in Kyoto!
WOMEN OF COLOR: I am Mexican and black with massive curly hair and medium toned skin. The hair and makeup team at the studio are so sweet and skilled at what they do! There are several wig options available (I arrived with my hair in cornrows for styling ease) and the traditional white makeup is mixed on the spot. The end result was fantastic!

Hi,
Chouhan is Japanese gambling game. This plan features the woman dealer that usually can be seen in Yakuza movie, and/or Samurai films.
This plan is one of our Oiran experience plan, with some differences such as how the kimono is being worn, the props being used, and the hairstyle - typically simpler than Oiran's.

Can you clarify the differences between the oiran, kokoran, and chouhan plans? What is the difference between hair and makeup? If I don't want to wear a wig, will my hair still be styled and accessorized?

How long did the full Oiran makeover and photoshoot session take?

Hello! The Oiran makeover take about 2.5~3 hours.
It'll take about 1~1.5 hour for makeup& hair and photoshoot, then 1 hour or more for retouch and printing photos.
If you want to have Oiran outdoor session, it will take more than 3 hours.
