Not too long ago, we signed up for a trial class(Sakura Romance Trial Class(RM 70)) with ABC Cooking Studio at The Gardens mall Studio and boy were we in for a treat.
ABC, took the dreadful bits of cooking such as the preparation work and cleaning up upon themselves, leaving just the joyful bits for their customers.
Upon arrival, we were settled in pretty quickly and ushered to our working desk. Not long after, we were greeted by a very pleasant instructor who patiently guided us through the respective steps. All the ingredients were already placed in measured proportions in front of us in a mixing bowl leaving us to pretty much just break them all in, mix them up and pop into the fridge (in the case of the strawberry kanten and sakura mousse) or the oven (in the case of the chocolate cake).
Initially we were pretty skeptical given how easy they made it sound. But upon experiencing it first hand, you really need no prior experience in the kitchen! We just might try one of their online classes some day.

The trial was a good experience, instructor and environment are great. However, the price is a bit expensive.

I experienced the one day trial course at their Gardens Mall location. It was alot of fun and I learned many new cooking tips from Shira. I would definitely recommend this cooking school for those who want to improve their cooking skills in an informal and enjoyable setting.

I completed my beginner baking course in ABC Cooking studio. Some of the instructors are good and experienced, but some are new learners as well. No QC sometime. It is better to know who is good and who is bad instructors in order to get the best out of your money and time spend in a new skill. I enjoy baking there as the ratio of 1 instructor to 4 students per table. And we book online on first come first basis.

We tried the RM70 trial course, and it is a bargain price! You get high-quality Japanese ingredients, advanced kitchen tools, and top-quality training. We had one teacher always giving us hands-on attention too. And, of course, the Christmas Bread was delicious! And it's not just because we made it ourselves. An excellent way to spend two hours or so.

This review is on behalf of my 11yo daughter. She had a great time in her first class and really liked the teacher, Wendy. My daughter loved that Wendy didn't treat her like a child, but rather any other competent, capable person - that's a big deal to our kids and to me, so we're all grateful to Wendy.
The rest of the staff has always been quite nice, welcoming, helpful and thorough in their instruction. We signed up for 6 classes. There is a registration fee to join ABC. Overall the prices were okay, maybe a bit high for KL, but the prices seem reasonable to me for 2 hours of class time.
My daughter put her hair up before class, but otherwise just showed up. ABC provides an apron with a pocket for your key and phone and a locker (free use) for your bags. There is a sort-of waiting area if a parent wishes to hang out at ABC. Otherwise, the entire Pavilion Mall is there to explore. On the same floor of ABC are a few restaurants if you want to have a beverage while waiting for your student.
We're glad we signed up for classes and look forward to the next lesson.
