In China it's the Giant Panda, in New Zealand it's the Kakapo, and in the Philippines it's the fabulous Philippine Eagle, a national symbol and icon, a critically endangered raptor that still survives in the forests of Mindanao. Vut while pandas can be seen in many zoos and kakapos can be seen just about nowhere, visitors to this park are lucky to catch a glimpse of this gorgeous bird, the Philippine Eagle, a unique chance on this planet, as 42 years old "Girlie" is the only specimen outside of Mindanao. Staggering creature, in addition to a lovely collection of Hornbills, serpent eagles, fishing eagles and other local fauna. I'd strongly recommend this place over Manila zoo, not only for the focus on local species, but also for the amazing forest and lush trees, with basket ferns and Philippine staghorns (Platycerium grande) of titanic size. I was here 30 years ago and I see the progress, and happy with the achievements. Those vicious critics of these mini zoos, so typical on these rating platforms, have absolutely no idea of the immeasurable efforts the professionals in these parks take in rescuing animals from illegal trade smuggling, and poaching, recovering them and re-homing with full follow-up with other zoological institutions. Thank you so much to Doc Glenn, Marilou and Robert for their hospitality and time during this unforgettable visit.

Big place.....

This is a government-run establishment. It shows, and I don't mean that in a good way.
I entered via Quezon Avenue, although those with cars driving in many enter via North Avenue.
It is about 23 hectares, peaceful when one gets away from the noise of jeepneys and other vehicles on these major roads.
Admission was P100 for foreigners but only P30 for locals. Had I been older, as a senior citizen I would have been admitted for free.
While far better than the disgraceful Manila Zoo, the animals and birds at NAP&WC were displayed in highly variable settings.
On the plus side, the three South American macaws and the about ten African grey parrots had aviaries in which they could fly. The sole saltwater crocodile had a reasonably sized enclosure, albeit with brackish water as did the lonely looking Australian cassowary.
However the numerous Philippine cockatoos and some eagles and kites such as the Brahminy were in cages that were way too small. The cages were old and rustiing. I felt sorry for these birds that were unable to properly fly for any distance.
The lake was far nicer than India's Ooty Lake that was my most recent comparison. The Ninoy Aquino lake had some fish in it - many - and some water lilies that added to the vista.
I walked around the lake. The fishing village was deserted.
There are vendors selling a good range of snacks and drinks, and some seating, plus many trees including Australian eucalypts.
There was no visible rubbish - a plus - but many of the concrete paths could do with maintenance. The worst was in the 'recovery for wildlife' section where much of the concrete had broken up.
There is a relatively new function centre on site.
With better care and upkeep, plus bigger cages for birds, this could be a very good attraction. Unfortunately, no one in government probably cares (unless thay can palm off some of the admission fees themselves).

the place is good for photo shoots and better as a venue in videos and photos due to a perfect surroundings, the owner should focus on the maintenance of a place so that the beaty of a place still maintain

Its a nice break from the concrete jungle that Metro Manila has become even if this place could use a lot of improvement. The bird sanctuary is well stocked but could use some sprucing up. Very affordable.

Lush greenery in here. Several exotic animals to see. Great for taking pictures. Invest a couple hours here to walk the grounds. You will see the national bird of the Philippines in here. And different types of trees. Entrance fee at this posting is 30 pesos per person.

This is a hidden gem in busy Manila. With all the trees, animals, and a pond, one can take a stroll inside and relax. The area is also huge. Maintenance work needs to be done though.

入場料は地元民と外国人で違う。数百円のことではあるが。
ただ散策するだけなら、お隣のメモリアルサークルの方が、無料だし多くの訪問客のくつろぐ姿も見られるので楽しいと思う。

The grounds are nice but it's sad to see all the animals in such small enclosures. Making the enclosures bigger would go a long way to improving things.

How much is the entrance this 2018?
Permit to shoot only into special places like in ampitheater, tea house etc. is still applicable right?

If I remember correctly, the entry fee is 30 PHP for Filipinos ans 100 PHP for foreigners.

I'm planning to have this as my pre-debut photoshoot location and I was wondering how much the entrance fee is? and if there are available cottages or rooms to rent where I can have my make-up done or change into an outfit for the shoot. Lastly, would you guys be open on Palm sunday? A swift reply would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Di ko alam e. Dun ka sa kanila magtanong para makakuha ka ng payo sa kanila. May mga wildlife conservationists dun para sagutin mga tanong mo. Alam ko ung nire-rescue nila mga confiscated wildlife.
