Some of the park staff could use better training.

We we're in line to ride on on a huge inner tube looking thing around a circular route going under waterfalls. Has everyone of us have gotten absolutely so the water carried us to the boarding ramp so we can get off and continue on to the park. We are about 60 ft away from the ramp, and the ride suddenly stopped. Some form of platform has raised up and stopped all of us from moving. Apparently someone had stood up on the ride which caused an immediate shutdown of the ride. When the staff started taking people out of the rafts, they got to us. My mother-in-law is 89 years old so they had to get a ladder to help her down. She could not reach the latter steps as she is a very small woman and does not have a great balance. They tried to help her reach the step on the ladder and she slipped and gashed her leg. After a few minutes of discussion they finally decided to call the parks EMS. All of this could have been avoided had they gently lowered her to the platform from the Wrath instead of her tried to make such a large step to a metal ladder.

I'd like to see them go through a complete training course on how to offload elderly and disabled persons successfully without injuring them. It's been a couple of weeks now since the incident and it's going to take a while for that gash to heal.

Never - going - back.

Pleasant with long lines

I found the park (besides the lines) much more pleasant than a lot of reviewers. It’s a great diverse crowd from all walks of life, all having a good time. The park is a manageable size for a single day. Good grouping of kids rides all together. Fun water park.
Ok the lines were tough to be sure - 45 mins for a water slide but that’s parks nowadays. What they do need to fix is there is not enough food options and slow service so it can be 30+ mins for a slice of pizza.

MOST APPAULING AMUSEMENT PARK EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD! This park CLOSED early - at 2pm...BECAUSE THERE WEREN'T ENOUGH CUSTOMERS!!! I have never heard of a park being allowed to do this??? I feel like they've committed a crime against the guests because we paid for something that wasn't delivered.
Food was disgusting and overpriced.
Employees were divided - some wonderful people, and others completely ignorant. Some rides especially the old-school ones were great.

My overall takeaway is that this amusement park is ONLY GOOD FOR LOCALS

I paid several hundreds for a local hotel, not to mention the cost of the passes only to be left disgusted. Never returning to Dorney Park.

Not so good experience at Dorney

September is not a good time to visit Dorney. There is not enough workers in the park. Tickets should be half the price as you wait a long time for everything. Your food, rides etc etc. No-one is cleaning the picnic and table areas so the bees are everywhere with soda and juice spills all over the tables. Every bathroom was dirty, I guess they are cleaning them at night at the end of the day. I used to think Dorney was one of the cleanest parks in PA. But not anymore. PS The fast pass is a terrible idea, just another way to get ripped off at the park.

Overpriced and Dirty

I had one of the worst experiences at Dorney park. First of all, the bee problem was absurd. As someone who is severely allergic to bees, this was a big issue. The employees were also very miserable and rude. One even called me “stupid”. I also asked an employee to loosen my safety belt as it was practically cutting my stomach, and they obviously heard me and ignored me. They also let WAY to many people in the park, which made me wonder what their max capacity was. 1 small bottle of water was ridiculously overpriced.($7) The waterpark was so packed and the wave pool was closed, making the other wave pool filled with people, making it dangerous. I don’t usually make things a big deal, but this ruined my trip from the very start.

Nice little park. Cool water rides and Dry rides. Cute Snoopy park for Little ones. Very Very dirty bathrooms and Changing booths. Looks like changing private rooms have not been inspected in awhile. Water ride with blue mats, need to be cleaned. Black Mold on almost EVERY MAT. Need more benches areas to sit....I would visit again and tell people about it..

Very expensive $30 parking. Very expensive foods that wasn’t very good. It’s just not a family friendly environment anymore. It’s been overrun by drunk and high poorly behaved adults. The park smelled like weed from the moment you parked to when you left. I went to this park as a kid and young adult and it was never like this! It wasn’t this dirty and it certainly wasn’t this ghetto.Very dirty pools and bathrooms long lines. Extremely crowded. You could barely go on a ride every hour in the water park. Hour long lines for food. Rides were constantly breaking down or out of service. A mother was fist fighting with another patron and got hauled off by security and the cops were called and she was being detained all in front of her daughter! And children seeing this behavior it really sad and pathetic. She had the nerve to use her daughter as sympathy. The quality of people in the parks is appalling. One would feel unsafe here because how disrespectful the guests were. Ghetto nasty people fighting and just being rude to us while we were minding our own business. Lots of people listening into our conversations and giving unnecessary comments. Like mind ur business. Kids cutting lines, picking fights and staff doing nothing. It’s a kids water park/theme park and women were walking around in g strings no cover ups. Dancing around flapping there bbls while we were trying to eat. Lmaooo again I almost threw up the mediocre food. I mean at least throw a cover up on! Some girl had on a bikini top that didn’t even cover her whole breast! The women that did wear cover ups wore see thru cover ups with their g strings. What a mess. This isn’t Miami in spring break there are kids around no one wants to see that! Just gross. We won’t be going back ever. Dirty dirty dirty I almost threw up in the bathrooms and when I saw a bandaid wash up on the wave pool. OMG it was so gross. It’s sad this was once an amazing park. Now I wouldn’t take my kids here ever again. I rather pay more and go somewhere else then deal with trash.

Rides are great!

I went to Dorneypark on a cloudy day and there wasn’t many people which was great! The rollercoasters were fun, the lines were quick, and I had a great time. The wood was very overpriced but was good. I went to Wildwater Kingdom as well and although the water was freezing, the rides were pretty fun. Overall, I would recommend coming here!

BEWARE IF YOU GO TO THE WILDWATER KINGDOM!!

I would have given Dorney a 4/5 star rating. We had such a great time on all the roller coasters and rides. Then we switch it up and went to the Wildwater Kingdom side of the park. My sons green crocs were stolen from the shoe cubby. I couldn't believe it. He was so upset that someone took his crocs with his favorite jibbitz. We stood there in disbelief that someone could actually take another persons belongings. We spoke to a lifeguard who said we would need to report to security. I went to the front of Wildwater Kingdom where two security guards were standing. I explained what had happened and then one guard took out a little notepad and wrote down my name and phone number. Then he wrote down my sons croc and jibbitz info GREEN CROCS, cartman, dodgers, D, F and a Starbucks cup. They said I would be notified if the crocs were located. I said I'm sure whoever stole them put them in a bag to hide the fact that they stole them. My sisters, son and I walked around endlessly searching the Wildwater Kingdom to find his crocs. Never to be found. We stopped by the Lost & Found but the girl there said there were no crocs. It is really unfortunate that after we had lots of fun that someone could ruin it by stealing from my son. If you plan on going to the Wildwater Kingdom park DO NOT leave your belongings in the shoe cubbies or by the rides. They could be stolen and then the park does nothing to assist you!! BEYOND DISAPPOINTED.

A Mix of Good and Bad

Being Cedar Fair pass holders, my friend and I included two days at Dorney Park as part of our itinerary since we get in there free. I have always enjoyed my visits to Dorney, but our first day on this trip was not so stellar.

It started with finding a parking spot open. Management only had one section open, and 30 plis cars, including us, were driving around 20 minutes trying to find a spot. When it became obvious none were left, we went to a parking attendant and told her the situation. She radioed for assistance, and then they opened another section.

Line cutting was bad. Even park workers stood there, watching it happen. They did nothing. I even asked one about it. She was confused as to what to do. Some young kids were causing problems, and they were without chaperones. That is against their posted policy. Adults were wearing see-through mesh type clothing without under garments. Everyone could see everything. Where was the dress code?

It was a very busy day for a Monday, and the park was understaffed. I stopped by guest relations to speak with a supervisor about all that was less than it should be. After a 15- minute wait, the guest services lady said all supervisors were busy and I needed to go online to file a complaint. I told her that was unacceptable as there was too much to write about. She called again, and a young man about 19 years old showed up. I explained to him all that went on. He apologized and confirmed being understaffed. He did say he'd speak to the appropriate people about these problems. He gave each of us one exit ride pass.

The next day, we went back. Things were much better, except for getting into the park. About 45 busses full of day care children overwhelmed the metal detection staff to move people through. I understand this is important for guest safety.

Once inside the park, lots of security officers were present. Guest dress was screened better. Those trying to line cut were kicked out of line by ride operators. So, sharing my concerns actually got some issues resolved. I was glad to see that.

Dorney has a good selection of rides, both classic and modern. The water park is included with admission. It is a clean park. Most workers were friendly enough. It is worth a visit.
