La hicimos corriendo, es ventosa y bañarse quizás no apetece tanto. El ambiente es más residencial. Está presidida por la estatua de Tom Jobim, o sea que hay que ir. Rio auténtico.

El mejor lugar de Río para quedarse. Cerca de Leblon, Barra, Copacabana, el centro, el Cristo. Todo. Ya habíamos parado en Copacabana pero Ipanema es el lugar.

This is a lovely city beach, nicer than Copacabana as it is less busy (still really busy though). Sea is a bit rough and no swimming zones so take care if you enter. Lots of people selling things. Sunbeds or space to relax on the sand. Very pretty with the sea, beach and mountain backdrop, quite unusual.

We had an absolutely outstanding dinner at Ipanema. In fact, it was so great we ate there twice in our short west end stay. Alan was our server, and his attitude was fantastic. He made it a fun experience. Our table was out on the patio, and the views cannot be surpassed elsewhere. The food was spectacular, and the sunset was amazing. Thank you Alex! We'll be back!

No visit to Rio is complete without at least one afternoon on the beach at Ipanema. The one where the girl's from is a feast for the eyes. the glorious two brothers mountains to the west and the rocky outcrop of Arpoador luring sunset viewers to its east frame a paradise, conveniently labeled for your taste. Each kilometer has a numbered lifeguard stand: posto 8 is more families, posto 9 has the boys that generally arent interested in the girls from Ipanema, further up you'll find lots of football circles etc.
Ipanema's not as developed as Copacabana so don't expect a zillion fast restaurants but there are enough kiosques plus folks strolling the beach hawking drinks and snacks so that you don't need to lug it all with you. Likewise chair and umbrella rentals are inexpensive.
The biggest surprise you'll get is when you decide to cool off by taking a dip. The water is cold!

RIO DE JANEIRO - Fiquei um pouco preocupada com a segurança, mas a praia estava limpa e bem cuidada e bem cheia levando em conta que era dia da semana. Perto do Posto 8 uma feira artesanal virou atração pela ótima qualidade dos produtos. Alguns ótimos restaurantes na orla e no Arpoador o excelente ARP que é o único pé na areia daquele trecho.

Hola Rubén! Si hay muchos puestos de comida, tanto en la playa como en la calle en frente. Los precios de las sombrillas estan en unos 20 Reales por día y las reposeras igual. Si vas muchos días te conviene caminar por el centro de Ipanema o Copacabana y comprar una sombrilla que sale unos 35 Reales.

Hola fui una sola vez en enero asi que no te puedo ayudar. Fijate si no es epoca de lluvias porque si es, te puede llegar a llover mucho y no te va a dar para pisar la playa.

Allá te van ofreciendo sillas y sombrillas desde que entras y te acercas a una de las playas. Normalmente el valor es de unos $5 reales por silla y $10 la sombrilla. Gay lugares que si le consumís a ellos te las pueden llegar a dar sin cargo.
