One in a Million - Responsible and Ethical Tour Guide

Our Little Africa Black History Walk and Street Art tour in Rio could not have been better. Kelly is a well-researched, thoroughly prepared, and kindly engaging guide. She not only shares the rich history of the area and the artists, but she has a personal connection to many, and is entrenched in the history of her local community. This passion for responsible tourism sets Rio Encantos apart from the myriad of other tours in Rio. I can't recommend this tour company highly enough. Book them all, you won't regret it!

Kelly + Rio Encantos=Culturally eye opening, rigorously intellectual, historically contextualized, and fun, for all ages! We weren't an easy family krew, admittedly. We expressed strong regional affiliations with other parts of fabulous Brazil, but Kelly won us over on all things Rio. Her breadth and depth of regional knowledge is second to none. She was also an engaging playmate for our 6 year old, making for levity, learning, and accessibility that our child is unlikely to have received through other guide services. Book with Kelly soonest, her services are in high demand. You'll be delighted with what you learn from her wide spanse of expertise.

Kelly est une super guide, elle aime et connaît la ville de Rio. Grâce à elle, j'ai découvert l'architecture, l'histoire et la gastronomie du Brésil à Rio.
De plus, c'est une personne charmante et sa compagnie est très agréable.

Little Africa Tour

Fabulous tour led by Kelly who was engaging & well knowledgeable. It was awesome walking the streets of Little Africa, the birthplace of Samba. Seeing Valongo Wharf, one of the largest slave ports & learning about prominent figures in the resistance to slavery - Zumbi & Dandara, the structures of quilombos; Ballerina Mercedes Baptista & Tia Ciata - Community & Spiritual leader & prominent Samba figure. My visit to Little Africa culminated with lunch at Quitutes da Luz.

Kelly ha sido una guía estupenda. Nos ha explicado muchas cosas interesantes de la historia de Río de Janeiro y Brasil, con una perspectiva afrocentrada y dedicada a conocer muchas cosas de la cultura y la comunidad de la zona de pequena África. Ha sido muy amable explicándonos todo en español, y teniendo en cuenta que íbamos con una niña de 7 años, también ha tenido el detalle de contarle cosas a ella para que estuviese entretenida.
Hemos tenido la suerte de coincidir con un amigo chileno de Kelly que nos ha aportado aún más informaciones interesantes.
Es una forma muy buena de conocer una parte menos “turística” de Río, entender y reflexionar sobre un pasado muy triste pero al mismo tiempo hacer un ejercicio de deconstrucción muy muy necesario, más en los tiempos que corren.
Lo recomiendo muchísimo, me parece necesario, educativo y un privilegio. Gracias a Kelly por todo.

Pequenha Africa . Recomendadísimo!!

Experiencia muy buena, muy interesante, con mucha información que sólo alguien que es local puede ofrecer. Muy bueno para ir en familia. Fuimos con mi hijo de 13 y mi hija de 3 años y todos disfrutamos muchísimo. Kelly es una gran guía que contempla las.necesidades de cada integrante del grupo. Si recién llegan empiecen por este así les quedan días para hacer otros paseos. Nosotros quedamos con ganas de hacerlos pero era nuestro último día. Ya volveremos!!!

Fizemos o tour pela pequena África no Rio de janeiro e creio que tenha sido um dos melhores passeios que já tenha feito em virtude da troca de energia e conhecimento histórico e cultural dos lugares por onde passamos e da Kelly. Experiência incrível em que recomendo e que já quero voltar. Passeio pra família e pra qualquer idade.
