I had booked a 2 hour lesson, which had cost me 120 lev. They gave me a receipt and allocated me a time slot. When I turned up to that time slot they had asked me for a ticket, which they claimed was handed out to me when I payed. However, I was never given this. I was only give a receipt, therefore I thought that this was all the proof I needed. As I did not have a ticket they refused to give me a lesson despite having a receipt (valid proof that I had payed for lessons). As a result, I asked for a refund which they also refused despite constantly going back and forth and and standing there with a silly expression on their faces doing nothing to help the situation. Do not go to them for lessons, they will scam you and take your money.

Highly recommend Emil Stoiminov - he took our 14 yr old son in his group for the week and had him doing black runs by the end. He gave us regular updates by text to let us know our son was doing well, told us where they were going for lunch each day so we could meet up if we were nearby etc. The thought of letting our 14 yr old go off up the gondola and chair lifts into the mountains to do black runs should have been terrifying but we really trusted Emil and felt very safe letting him take charge. If we return to Borovets I would ask for him again - he was brilliant. Highly recommend Emil particularly if you are wanting someone to take your children onto the more difficult slopes that you aren’t confident on yourself. Thank you Emil 😊🙌

Excellent ski school service provided by Krasi Gerginov aka 'The Silver Fox'! Extremely knowledgeable and motivating. Gets the most out of his students on the slopes and continues to put people at ease 'apres ski'!
Will definitely be back and will always request to ski with the 'Silver Fox'

Had a brilliant time with these guys. Booked 6 days of tuition through Crystal Ski and worth every penny. Having only been skiing indoor in Manchester this was our first experience of an actual ski resort.
On first day we went and collected all of our hire equipment from Hotel RILA which went smoothly. Was advised to head over to the slope where we would be out in to a class. We were lucky enough to run in to an instructor called Krasis (we later found out he had been working in Borovets for over 30 years). Had a chat with him about our ability and he gave us the option to go for intermediate or beginner. As we had no idea how things actually worked on the slopes we went with beginner which he was teaching. We were put in a group of around ten (goes up and down first couple of days as people either move up or down in ability). We were very fortunate to be in a really great group where everyone helped each other.
Lessons wise Krasis took people who’d never warn skis before to being able to handle easy reds by the end of the week. Even though I’d been taught what I thought was intermediate in Manchester I learned so much more. By the end of the week we were all confidently using the lifts and coming down from as high as snow would allow.
All in all amazing experience and brilliant teacher.
Thank you so much

I am a very nervous skier who does not like to come out of my comfort zone . Georgi , from day 1 was the nicest , compassionate , understanding, skilled instructor I ever learnt with . I have never felt so comfortable and cared for. Georgi managed to get me confidant on red runs . His teaching style made my holiday . I cannot wait to return for more skiing with George . Borosport is the only ski school worth considering in Borovets . They are the leader and Georgi makes that happen .

I had George Kotev as my teacher. With me (I am someone who can ski ok then suddenly head goes and can't ski at all) and the rest of our group he was truly excellent. He had the patience of a saint with the whole group and was a great personality. In my group there were a few of us that could be ok skiing one minute, useless the next. Big confidence issues. The ones that were more confident were either swapped to a better level group or went off by themselves. Plus some were brought into our group due to their lack of confidence. This was great as we could all support each other with the help of George when our heads hit difficulties. Plus we were all of a similar standard so nobody was holding the group back or advancing too fast . Sorry this review is such a long time after but thanks George Kotev.

Another great week in Borovets, with expert ski tuition from Krasimir Gerginov who as usual made the week exceptionally enjoyable, covering all the runs and introducing yet more new bars, restaurants for luch or the odd cheeky drink. Top instructor, can't recommend him enough.
My wife had tuition from Dimitar Kazandshiev 'Mitko' again an expert teacher, true professional! Look foward to seeing them both on our next trip.

We spent a week in Borovets over half term as a family with 2 teenagers on arrival at Rila Hotel to collect our boots and ski's we had a horrible 2 hour wait.. Then had to wait another hour for the rest of the class to join...
The first thing our instructor (Tony Todorov) ask us to do was ski down the slopes to show what we could do (we skied twice before) then we we're pointed to a group. Didn't seem a good way to choose groups. Then we were asked to walk along way across the the slopes, in the sun carrying all their equipment which wasn't easy for our friends young girls (11) they got upset as Tony had left them behind. Their parents had to collect them before the lesson had started properly. The next day Tony transferred them to a different group which was more age appropriate.
I and my sons didn't stay in the class after the first day but my wife did every morning and most afternoons. On the last day Tony told my wife and only her that she wasn't welcome with them on the last day which really upset her.
He said it's because she missed a couple of afternoon lessons (it's a family holiday) and wasn't going to help at all on the last day so she just had to leave.
Most other ski destinations offer either am or pm lessons. With Boro Sports you are expected to do am and pm lessons but not only that you are also expected to lunch with your group, so unless your friends and family are in the same group as you (doubtful if you have different experience) then you will be apart all day every day. This didn't work well for our family holiday which is why my wife came away from the group for a couple of afternoons.
Tony did not take the family holiday aspect into consideration, or the fact that there is so much else to do in the area, giving you no chance to experience the thermal spas, the ski-doos or even a massage back at your hotel as in his eyes you have to attend all his lessons, otherwise you are kicked off on your last day. He gave no warning of this until you meet at the arranged meeting point on the last morning.
All in all the ski school seemed to do a good job but Tony Todorov (with 30 years experience) up set two 11 year old girls and my wife of which I told his team as I couldn't find him on the last day.
In hindsight we wish we had booked private lessons for the morning or afternoon only so that we could spend more time together as a family.

We spent a week in Borovets over half term as a family My two boys Noah (11) and Luca (8) were booked into ski school. Both could do the basics but were very much green run snow ploughers at the start of the week. They were in separate classes but both of their instructors (Stefan and Ivo) were superb. The progress they made was remarkable and both boys were doing jumps and black runs by the end of the week. More importantly they loved ski school due to the fun, friendly and attentive approach of their instructors.
I think they were supposed to have 4 hours tuition a day, but the groups regularly started early or finished late - the instructors seemed to genuinely love what they were doing and wanted to develop the group as much as possible.
At a fraction of the price of lessons in the Alps, I really cannot recommend this ski school highly enough.
Absolutely superb all round....thank you guys for a brilliant week.

Wow, what a great instructor and 4 great days of skiing with much learnt. We had private lessons as a family, 1 adult and 2 children, all intermediate level. Booking and communication was great in the run up to the holiday.
When we arrived for our first lesson we met Shoyan, who we were lucky enough to have for the 4 mornings. Shoyan is a great instructor. Brilliant English, he gave us exercises, pushed us to be our best and gave us the confidence to believe in our abilities and our skis.
Shoyan was so good with the children, helping carry their skis, pulling them along on the flats and having lovely conversations with them.
I will recommend Borosport and particularly Shoyan to all of our friends and we will definitely use again.

I have always met on a Sunday however all you need to do is go to the office, just past the Black Tiger infront of the Rila hotel, opposite the button lift. There are usually instructors dressed in red milling about. If you are there for 9.30 that should be ok.
