La casa museo ha un biglietto di ingresso di 6 leva. Al suo interno sono presenti molte foto di inizio secolo della famiglia di commercianti che vi abitava.

This is a wealthy merchants house built in the 1860s. The inside is really beautifully decorated and designed. It now houses items of local culture and tradition e.g folk costumes and pottery. Recommended for a short visit of approx 40 mins.

Casa museo construida en 1861 y de las mejores de la calle General Gurko.
Para adaptarse al de nivel tiene dos plantas hacia la calle Gurko pero cinco en la fachada al rio
Casa de un rico comerciante local Dimo Sarafina que da nombre a la casa familiar
La casa ha sido museo desde 1981 y sirve para conocer la casa familiar con el curioso patio central y ahora alberga una exposición etnográfica “Arte popular de la región de Tarnovo”.
Interesante el hall de entrada y la escalera de madera hasta el segundo piso.
La exposición es curiosa sobre todo por los objetos rituales elaborados para fiestas y rituales vinculados al calendario cristiano, folclórico y laboral.

Cette maison bourgeoise a été construite à flanc de coteau sur 4 niveaux en 1861 pour un riche marchand. Ses jolies pièces abritent une exposition ethnographique consacrée à l'art populaire de la région de Veliko Tarnovo : sculpture sur bois, poterie, mobilier, bijoux, costumes, tissages et broderies. L'étage est consacré aux premiers temps de la photographie à Tarnovo. Le lieu est agréable et intéressant (payant).

Замечатеьнй образец архитектуры болгарского возражения. Напоминает крытый двор с комнатами по периметру, хотя "двор" - это тоже помещение. В каждой комнате - небольшая экспозиция. Есть и национальная одежда, и предметы обихода, и старинные фотографии .Портрет города 19 - начала 20 века. Конечно, стоит посетить.

This place is worth calling in, as part of wander along General Gurko street, which is a magic medieval laneway wandering along the hillside just below the main street in VT. The house and displays are well preserved and only takes about 10 minutes to see.

The Sarafkina House is in the middle of the picturesque Gurko Str. It is an old house turned into a museums which offers and insight to 19th rich Bulgarian house.
Only two out of five floors are open to visitors. The exhibition shows a variety of everyday objects, furniture, national clothing, old photographs. It's not too grand but still a lovely place to see.
It takes approx. 30 mins to tour and is definitely worth the huble price of EUR 3.00. per pax.

The door was locked even if the hour was inside the visiting program; eventually, a lady appeared, opened the door, took the money, turned on some lights and THAT WAS ALL!!! It seemed that we disturbed her with our visit and money.
Imagine a museum with no one speaking English language! :( We tried to find more details from her but we found them on Wikipedia.
Lot of improvements to be done.

On picturesque cobbled Gurko street stands one of the best examples of the Bulgarian Revival style in Veliko Tarnovo, the so called Sarafkina house, once built by a banker ('saraf' meaning 'money lender' in Turkish). In 1981, thus 120 years after its construction, the five-storey building (when seen from the river, two-storeys from above), was turned into the town's Ethnographic Museum.
Inside one can admire the architecture, like the grand entrance hall, surrounded by a gallery, but also items referring to the urban past of Tarnovo, as well as to the rural traditions of the surroundings. Thus among the exhibits there are besides jewellry and textiles also ritual breads and painted eggs. Several old black and white photographs give an idea of the late 19th and early 20th century's lifestyle in town.

Гуляя по улице по жаре, очень хорошо зайти и погулять в прохладе музея, сам музей не скажу, что вау, но миленький. Там собраны национальные костюмы, утварь, показаны в витринах различные испечённые хлебобулочные изделия, предметы интерьера, фотографии. Вход стоит 6 львов/чел.
