In the beating heart of the city is Piazza Uniiri,
It's not a real square. It is surrounded by hotels and clubs, but there are no monuments that leave you speechless. Overall it is a nice area. With a nice avenue leading to the parliament building

The square is slowly regaining its luster with the renovation of the two hotels surrounding it, the repair of the floors and the once damaged underground passage. At night, a tent of bulbs illuminates the central part and the royal statue. Quite a few people, even if not necessarily well attended.

Unirii Square was created in the mid-19th century in Iasi. In the center of the square stands a monument to the first ruler of united Romania, Alexander Ioan Cuza (1820 - 1873).

The central square with several outdoor cafe areas, working fountains, and a monument to the founder of the state. The square is surrounded by buildings of various styles, including one by the design of Gustave Eiffel. World Press Photo 2023 exhibiting now.

Piazza priva di interesse se si esclude l'hotel Traian in stile neoclassico e il centrale monumento del principe Alexandru Cuza . Cuore pulsante di Iasi e con interessanti bar.

Unirii/Union square in Iasi ... a blend of old and new- during the communist era many historical buildings got razed and replaced with concrete flat building - and this historical portion of the city of Iasi is no exception.
In the square there are hotels - Grand Hotel Train and Unirea are to be found in the square - some cafes and fountains.
As a center piece is the statue of King Alexandru Ioan Cuza - the exiled Romanian king.
Overall an interesting place if you want to spend some relaxing time surrounded by a blend of new and old.
When you are visiting Iasi I recommend you do stop here for a few pics.

... für einen sehr angenehmen Spaziergang, der zum Kulturpalast führt. Am nordwestlichen Ende der Prachtstraße liegend - des Bulevardul Ștefan cel Mare, führt dieser Weg nämlich vorbei an den wichtigsten - unter den sehenswerten - Gebäuden der Stadt (Kirchen, Museen, Rathaus) und man kann unterwegs entscheiden, ob oder welche dieser Gebäude man sich genauer ansieht. Personen, die besonderes Interesse für die Hauptstadt der Moldau haben, finden hier Stoff für einen ganzen Tag.
Der Platz selber ist nur bedingt attraktiv. Lediglich das Trajan Grand Hotel ist von ästethischer Bedeutung, während die übrigen Gebäude sich bzgl. ihrer Architektur als 'Kinder' der 4 Jahrzehnte währenden kommunistischen Diktatur und der damals gültigen 'Ästhetik' ausweisen. Eine Ausnahme bildet nur das Denkmal für Alexandru Joan Cuza, jenem moldauischen Fürsten, dem es 1862 gelang, die Moldau und die Walachei zu einem Staat zusammenzuführen.
