Junction of the three roads, The Mall, The Ridge and Kali Bari Mandir Marg is known as Scandal Point. Visitors pass through this place admiring the architecture of historical colonial buildings. Today there is a statue of the Indian freedom fighter Lala Lajpat Rai (no relation to the scandal). Next to Scandal Point is the General Post Office of Shimla. Just walk through here and enjoy the beauty, cleanliness and charming people of Himachal. The buildings appears dazzling in the evening with the colourful lights on.

one of the busiest tourist locations in Shimla, its quite crowded, lot of eating joints and shopping options , its always fun to be here, the only problem is MONKEYS ,,, there are a lot of Monkeys in this area and they are ready to pounce on any kind of food especially ice creams etc which you r trying to enjoy ... and the authorities seem to have no control on this menace. Rest there is lot of history attached to this location and great to see the ridge, old church, Gaiety theatre , goofa restaurant, etc.

Scandal Point is the intersection between The Mall and The Ridge. It is named as Scandal Point in history with a romantic story behind. It says, during the British Era in 1892, Bhupinder Singh, the Maharaja of Patalia fell in love with the daughter of the viceroy. It is believed that the king and viceroy’s daughter eloped from this point. Since then it is named Scandal Point. Today there is a statue of the Indian freedom fighter Lala Lajpat Rai (no relation to the scandal). Next to Scandal Point is the General Post Office of Shimla. Just continue strolling in your direction by enjoying the magnificent views of beautiful Shimla city, The Mall, The Ridge, Jakhoo Hill, Sanjoli Hills etc..

This is a beautiful place in the unplanned, crowded city where you can spend some quality time watching the sunset and wind down. Don’t forget to visit ‘The Brew Estate’ for a meal which is fantastic.

It is not any building or any structure but a meeting point. If you do not want to go to Kali Bari then you can take an u turn walk towards actual Mall Road to reach elevator point or walk straight for another 10 min to reach holly Maa Kali Bari. While walking you can do shopping and enjoy street foods.

It is not a specific sight you have to see or miss.While going in Mall road from Railway office end towards ridge or coming from Kalibari to ridge, it is the junction point.Just like a traffic post like point nothing there to see.

Went to the Cathedral only just made it before it closed (Opening hours are subject to Indian time....) Worth the visit.

This is a good meeting point and the location of several ATMs. One can stroll up to Christ Church or down the Mall to the Railway Building past several other colonial buildings.
