Must Visit Place in Mysore

Popularly known as Mysore Zoo, is a wonderful place to visit especially if you are traveling with kids. It is very conveniently located in the city itself and not very far from Mysore Palace and other attractions, which make it easier for you to cover more places in a day.
It opens at 0830 and it is best visit in the morning. Tuesday is a holiday.

Zoo is crowded over the weekends.
Parking slot infront of zoo will be mostly full over the weekends, Extra parking slot is avaialble 1 km away from zoo and parking fee is 50 Rs.
Zoo entrance fee is 100 for adults and 50 for kids above 5 years. Seperate Electric car ticket counter also available near to main ticket counter you need to pay extra 200/Person for it.Vehicles are allotted is based on first in basis.

Best time to visit is in the morning or evening, avoid afternoon time as most of the animals will be inside cage and will be sleeping.Main attractions are Gorilla,Orangutan, Giraffe, Bear, Black panther, Rhinos, African Elephant, Snakes and Crocodiles.

Worth a visit when you visit Mysuru.

A very large zoo, well laid out with plenty of amenities. We took the electric golf buggy tour which took around an hour, well worth it.

The Mysore Zoo is one of the best zoological gardens in the country. It is full of greenery and very well maintained. The collection of animals, birds and reptiles is impressive. Entry is Rs100/- for adults. You need to pay a refundable deposit of Rs.10/- for plastic bottles which they label. It is returned at the exit when you show the bottle. Do keep in mind the fact that you need to walk quite some distance; it makes sense to wear comfortable shoes and carry a water bottle. There are benches at intervals for those wanting some rest. Worth visiting if you happen to visit Mysore

Very well maintained zoo. Lots of different species on display. Highly recommended. Be prepared to walk for 3-4 hours.

A must Visit

Absolutely wonderful experience. The animals are all healthy and a sight to see. We saw tiger cubs playing with each other. 5-6 Giraffes, Rhino, hopi, Deer, meerkat, Snakes, Crocodile, Deer, Tiger(white), Peacock(White) and many more. They have a buggy service which gives the tour in an hour. Highly recommend the buggy as it saves time and energy. If you are visiting in Dec end, beware lot of school trips are planned here so it is very crowded. Recommend reaching at 10 am to avoid the rush. Buggy can be booked online. Usually Tuesday closed but during vacation they are open so check before visiting.
