The statue is located at the back of the Gateway of India. It was covered and seemed to be under construction so it would have been easy to miss. It didn't seem you were able to get into the garden to get a closer view of the statue. It is quite an interesting looking statue with the person on top of a horse.

広場を挟んでインド門の向かい側に立つのは、マラーターの指導者で、マラーター王国の創始者かつ初代君主（在位：1674年 - 1680年）。君主号チャトラパティを付けて、チャトラパティ・シヴァージーとも呼ばれる。日本語では、シバジと表記されることもある。シヴァージーはビジャープル王国やゴールコンダ王国、さらにはムガル帝国といったイスラーム王朝に対抗しようとして、デカンにヒンドゥー王朝を復興し、その結束を試みたという、擁するにヒンドゥー教徒の英雄。だからこそ、インド門の向かいに立っているのだろう。ある意味屈辱的な名前であったビクトリア駅をこの王の名前に改名したのも、その屈辱を払拭するためのもの。ムンバイの国際空港も彼の名前がついているので、インド門を見る際には、ぜひ彼にも注目を。

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj żył w XVII w. i był jednym z najznamienitszych hinduskich królów-wojowników, któremu udało się stworzyć dość duże królestwo. Jego pomnik znajduje się tuż obok Gateway of India i warto mu poświecić 5 minut ze względu na jego imperialny styl - zob. zdjęcie.

This statue stands on the spot where statue of King George V once stood. The area is generally always crowded and you will find people busy clicking selfies. Go early morning if you really want to enjoy the locale.

This monument stands in tribute to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the great Maratha and warrior king who laid the foundations of the Maratha Empire that rule much of modern day India until it’s final conquest by the British.
The monument is an equestrian statue and depicts Shivaji as a warrior armed with a round shield and sword. The monument is located just opposite the Gateway of India and worth a look if in the area.

Though there are many Statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj installed in Mumbai, but this statue is opposite of Gateway of India. Try to find out there, otherwise you will miss it.

The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is at a main junction in Chembur and I often pass by either to Pune or from Pune by bus. It is a very busy road to people just view it from a vehicle or from the opposite side of the roads as it is closed off. It is eye-imposing and very scenic and serves as a tribute to the great Maratha warrior Shivaji and also contributes to the history and lore of Maharashtra. It looks like a castle with soldiers, tigers, elephants and horses – more like a set from a film.
