I was staying around Colaba and ended up coming here since I was the top of the spire from a while away. The large structure turned out to be a clock tower for the University of Mumbai.
It is quite an interesting thing to see since it is visible from many places around the area. The work on the facade is quite interesting, with all the spiral motifs and statues along the building.
I thought it was something worth looking at even though you are;t able to get closer to admire the architecture.

This clock tower is quite tall and the clock is large and so the time is easy to read. It is decorated with stature of indian figures. College Gothic architecture.

【位置】我们从海边往印度门走去的路上，隔着孟买大学的校外板球场看到了Rajabai钟楼。
【简介】它高85.3米(280英尺)，是由英国建筑师乔治·吉尔伯特·斯科特爵士以伦敦大本钟为模板设计，于1878年完成。塔楼是威尼斯和哥特式风格综合的建筑。由孟买证券交易所创始人之一Premchand Roychand出资，并以其母亲Rajabai的名字来命名的。
【风景】远远看着外面围了一圈钢筋架子，不知道是不是正在维修。板球场边上一圈绿树成荫，孟买湿热的天气，这些树都长得很高，遮掉了塔的下半部分，而且孟买高楼大厦挺多，使塔看上去没有那么高。下面的板球场更为生机盎然。

Bonita edificação em estilo inglês, e assim como o Big Ben, estava em reforma em fevereiro/2020. Não sei se é possível entrar no prédio.

The clock tower would have been more interesting if it weren’t covered by scaffolding. However, things like that are necessary at times for repair or cleaning. Our guide said this tower was reminiscent of Big Ben as it was built by the British. Very interesting architecture combining Gothic and French style. The tower stands tall at 250 feet. Worth a visit.

2018年の世界遺産「ムンバイのヴィクトリアンゴシックとアールデコの遺産群」の構成要素のひとつ。ムンバイ大学の中にあり、ツアーの途中では、外でバスを下車して写真に収めることぐらいしかできなかったのは残念。しかも、修復工事中で足場が周りを囲んでいた。この時計台にしても、英国がインドの富を使って作ったもの。当時のイギリスの若い建築家にとっては、インドでの大規模建造物はその作りたいものを自由につくれる素晴らしい場所だったのだろう。

A good site to see. It was difficult, however, to get a good view from across the street. Perhaps another angle would produce a better photo.

Cestou autem po zajímavostech Bombaje je tohle jedna z mnoha zastávek. Že vás napadne - jsem v Anglii nebo v Indii? Architektura ala GB je tu opravdu na každém rohu viditelná
