The drive to Samsing from Murti was quite scenic, with hills, forests and tea gardens. One can cover this place along with a few other points like Suntalekhola, Jhalong and Bindu on a day trip. A quiet and relaxing place

Serpentine black road through wavy terrain of lush green tea garden under the shade tree with mighty Himalaya at the backdrop, the pristine conifers at the gorge of the hills just added few more shades of green under the bright winter sky: that's what the unique hallmark of Dooars and it provided us all during our trip.
It was just a 'touch & go' type day trip to Samsing & other nearby spots. Leaving behind the Chalsa Rail Station, beauty of the nature gradually unfolds and after half of an hour drive, we found ourselves among the vivid greenery of tea estates. The tranquility & freshness of the place was thoroughly enjoyed, as being the date a weekday no more tourist was there.
There is not much structurrd facillity for tourists. However, nature lovers can spent a day or two at WBFDC Tourist Lodge, which known to have good infrastructure.
If time is not a constraint, tourists can add this place while visiting nearby more renowned national parks and reserve forests to feel total flavour of beautiful Dooars.

We visited this place on our way back to Gorumara . Samsing is basically beside .One will have to walk down a steep semi pitched road about 1 ½ kms down to reach the place from the top and then walk up. Cars cannot go down as the road down is not suitable and is narrow but two wheelers can go down. The ascend is difficult more so for elderly and not so physically fit people. One can enjoy the view which is beautiful from the top if one chooses not to go down. There are green mountains all around and the view of the river flowing through the mountains from the top is mesmerizing. But despite the difficulty the place is definitely worth a visit.

Fantastic place. Located near Bhutan border in the Dooars. Surrounded by forests. Samsung is certainly worth a days visit.

The place is beautiful with beautiful hill back drop. The road from chalsa is slightly narrow but condition is good. It has some beautiful tea garden. The guest house of Samsing tea garden has one of the best location and view with turbulent river flowing in rains. A good and pleasant getaway from siliguri.

The place is simply beautiful...the road winds through the tea gardens,forests and there's Samsing suddenly in front of you.The water of the mountain stream is crystal clear and sweet.How I wish I had more than a day to spend in this tiny little hamlet!!

This winter I visited Mouchiki for 2nd time .. Still raw still virgin still fresh after so many years .. This time things has changed a lot . Now they put geyser in bathrooms , its not running only in Solar light anymore.Got electrical connection . And basic facilities has improved than 2010 when i visited this place for 1st time. We could drive with our rested car also instead of forest department pick up and drop car which running only based on booking and request. If you are planing to visit north Bengal and want to stay in a place mid of the forest and want to forget all daily stress and tension this is the best place to go again and again.

I have a booking in WBFDC cottage for a night in August. The next day I have to reach Bagdogra to catch a flight. Will cars be available from Suntalekhola to reach Bagdogra?

From Chalsa, should we hire a car of our own and retain it with us for the entire sumsing-suntalekhola tour or shared transport is available?

You can hire car to drop you at Samsing. Take the mobile number from the driver and tell him to come on the specific date or time to take you back to Chalsa or elsewhere. To visit Suntalekhola you can take a local jeep or trek 4kms only. It is most economical and enjoyable for visiting both the places.
