My wife and I went to Costa Rica retreat. It was third time for me traveling with Barefoot and first time for my wife. Everything was great: Staff, accommodation, surf lessons, food, service. Special thanks to Naomi, Chelsea , Erin, Chris.

My partner and I have both been surfing on and off for over 20 years and have gone on numerous surf trips, but have never gone to a surf camp or taken surf lessons. I’m glad our first trip was with Barefoot Surf Travel! Our 12 day trip to Bali was extremely well organized; from initial booking, to transportation from the airport, beautiful accommodations, and a great mix of surfing, surf instruction, and other travel experiences. Our surf instructors, Erin and Chelsea, catered to our individual skill level and the techniques we wanted to work on, helping us select boards, and partnering us with the right local coaches for our surf sessions. I can still get pretty intimidated at a new break or in a crowded lineup, and our local coaches really helped me to feel comfortable and were so stoked to see us do well on a wave. Our post-surf analyses with videos and photos of our sessions were incredibly valuable in learning and progressing. Both my partner and I were able to identify and break out of some bad habits and really progress toward surfing to the next level. We met an incredible group of people, and it was a blast to be out surfing together and cheering each other on. We were based out of two locations during our trip: Canggu on the main island of Bali; and Nusa Lembongan, a small island nearby. Our accommodations in Canggu were lovely, and there were some great restaurants in town, but the waves were super crowded, which took away from the appeal. Nusa Lembongan had a much slower pace, beautiful views and beaches, and less crowded breaks. I really enjoyed our time there. I can’t recommend Barefoot Surf Travel highly enough and can’t wait to join them on another trip!

I just got back from a 12 day trip with Barefoot in Bali and it was incredible! This is actually my second Barefoot trip - the first one being in Nicaragua in June (loved that one so much, I booked Bali straight away).
Bali, by itself, is a stunning place but Barefoot goes above and beyond with their Bali accommodations which was so beautiful I'm still dreaming about it. Right in the middle of Canggu, 300m from the beach, all around amazing restaurants, great shops and very walkable. Every day you're surfing with local coaches who's home breaks these are which makes it so much more enjoyable because they know exactly how the waves are. When you head over to Nusa Lembongan, the accommodations are just as beautiful with a view to die for. Again you get local coaches who know those exact breaks - I went from surfing a 9 foot board at home to getting down to a 7 foot board and loving it!
The Barefoot team, as always, were incredible! Alex, Franco and Nigel were amazing and made sure everything ran as smoothly as possible. And the day trips to Ubud and Uluwatu mean you get to see the culture of Bali as well not just the surf.
Cannot recommend it enough!

This is our second international surf camp trip and it really was the experience of a lifetime. Bali is very special -- the people, the food, the culture, and the surfing. Barefoot did such an incredible job putting together the right mix of learning, surfing, and exploring many locations in Bali. Our guide had things organized well, our head surf coach helped everyone in the group progress a lot over 12 days, and our itinerary allowed us to experience so much in too-short of time. Barefoot has a very special offering -- if you want to BOTH go surfing somewhere incredible AND experience the location, their Bali trip should be high on your list!

Wow! Wow! wow! A truly amazing, fun filled, exciting, gaining new experiences and excelling in learning Surf techniques 12 days!!! I can’t thank The Barefoot team enough for such a fantastic 12 days. After breaking my leg badly 11 months ago, the Barefoot team helped me get back on my surfboard with confidence, expert advise and encouragement. I now have the tools to put in practise and learnt those all important skills to take my surfing to a knew level. It has made me so very happy and very excited to get out the into the water. My husband also learnt a lot (he’s been surfing 35yrs) and thoroughly enjoyed the 12 days. We have met new friends from all over the world and can’t wait to visit them in the near future. I would recommend learning to surf with the Barefoot Surf Travel to give you the best start to your surfing life 😀😀😀😀🏄♀️😀😀😀😀

Le voyage avec Barefoot a été mon premier en dehors des resorts, et je ne me décidais pas à partir seule, packsack, mais ce fut un incroyable entre-deux. Ils nous ont montrer l'importance de s'immerger dans la culture de la place et d'en apprécier chaque fragment, dont les couchés de soleil qui ont été à couper le souffle. La gang de Barefoot et leurs employés locos font toute la différence pour ce voyage. Tu crée des liens rapidement avec eux et les autres voyageurs pour ainsi avoir des amis un peu partout dans le monde!

This Barefoot tagline says it all. During my week long in Nicaragua, I surfed, made new friends, ate good food, rode motorcycles, and truly lived more. I went on this trip with a couple of friends, but could have gone alone and had just as good of a time. I met so many great people from all over the globe and we became instant friends. Alex and Gabriel have created a really wonderful multi-cultural experience. Great teachers, great people, great vibes, great trip. I recommend this trip with maximum enthusiasm!

Barefoot surf travel en équateur, est de loin la meilleure chose qui me soit arrivé! Je suis tombé en amour avec le surf, les membres de l'organisation Marie et Israel, les autres voyageurs, l'endroit, la nourriture. Mais surtout j'en ressort grandi avec plein de nouveaux amis! Une expérience que je conseil fortement a tout le monde!!

I can't imagine a better surf travel company to travel with!
The experience was everything I could have imagined. There were so many laughs on this trip - the people were just awesome! I made plenty of new friends and our surf & travel guides Naomi and Nigel are so fun, approachable, and helpful.
I joined the Bali trip to surf, but the bonus was that it offered the perfect balance of authentic travel experience and surfing. Some organized activities to ensure we got to live the highlights, but plenty of down time to explore on our own or take the time for extra surfing.
The surf instructors are local (so knowledgeable) and are keen to joke around - which made it that much more fun! Definitely super memorable.
Having never surfed before, their tips were very helpful and they made sure that you not only catch waves, but build confidence and grow over the course of the trip. The surf meetings with Naomi were really helpful to visually see what you are doing right and wrong, as well as understand some surf theory - which greatly complimented our time in the waves. The constant feedback and support were amazing!
Accommodations are that of luxury. Beautiful, comfortable, and SO clean. Great pools at both accommodations. The locations and views of the villas are ideal - close to the ocean, eats/bars, shopping, amenities, etc.
The transport to and from the airport is reliable (even if your flight is delayed!) and the trip was organized, but still so easy going!
As a first-time or well-travelled traveller, you won't regret booking this trip. I wasn't ready for it to end and needless to say, I will be travelling with Barefoot again in the future - hopefully soon!

Naomi and Nigel are incredible and so easygoing guides throughout. They are welcoming and helpful in any situation. The whole trip was a great mix with plenty of scheduled activities but also enough time to go exploring on your own. I had a wicked time getting to know my new friends from all over the world. I learned lots of humility (again) during the surfing but certainly improved. It is worth going for sure.

Hi you hire boards?Ill be in Canggu for 7 days end of august...usually surf a thick 6;4 thruster.....How much for a 7 day board hire please :)
