Excellent 12 island boat tour hosted by Saliym on the Blue Mellow boat.
Would definitely recommend this tour, lovey swimming locations, not overcrowded, and delicious food for lunch.

During our stay in Dalyan in September my
friend and I booked three tours with Volkan's Adventures. There are a number of tour operators available in Dalyan but the tours that Volkan provides are all different to the usual ones on offer, are more personalised and sometimes take an unusual turn, an impromptu visit to an accessible rock tomb on the return from an 'off the beaten track, tour, for example.

Each tour only takes small groups which means that you get to enjoy every experience with the personal touch from a staff group, and particularly Volkan himself, who clearly love their jobs and their country. On each of our three trips we were given such a informed and entertaining understanding of the history and culture of the area and truly felt as though we were on a day out with very knowledgeable friends.

On a more personal note; Volkan is a great guy with a huge personality who goes out of his way to make a special day even more amazing for everyone involved. A few days ago I mentioned to him that some friends were taking a boat trip with him to celebrate a special birthday. Volkan arranged for a stunning cake to be made for my friend and for everyone to sing to her, giving her the biggest surprise and most amazing birthday.

All I can say is that if you are holidaying in Dalyan, then take a tour with Volkan. You will have the best time, ever. We can't wait to go back and travel with him again next year!

Thank you Volkan for making our holiday, and particularly our friend's, so special.

Did the 12 islands boat trip , had the best time so relaxing, swimming at all the swim stops , really good food and great fun . Volkan and his team were amazing and when the boat put its sail up and we were treated to a fantastic tango by volkan and his partner I had a tear in my eye it was so beautiful. A long day but we’ll worth it . A professional fun trip 10/10 . Thanks Lisa & Reuben .

Did the noon to moon trip.
Paid £40, despite others offering the trip for £25. This decision was based on volkans website, as it all sounded wonderful.
Firstly we had no guide.
The driver's partner who came along said she could not speak English.
They kept themselves to themselves on the trip and there was no atmosphere.
The food was nice enough but certainly not 5* hotel quality as the website says!
No swim up bar, no breads or dressings for foods.
No music. No atmosphere.
We could see other boats who looked and sounded like they were having a good time on similar trip and felt a bit envious.
Comfortable seating and clean boat. But other than that nothing different about this trip other than more expensive.

Yesterday I did the Mediterranean highlights trip(I did this 5/6 years ago) but wanted to see Patara, Kalkan and Kas again.
It was a long day but well worth it.
Hotel pick up followed by the most amazing Turkish breakfast at Calis beach(included), then onto Patara ancient city. We then moved onto Kalkan where you could wander the town, swim on the beach and then have a bite to eat (included). Then onto stunning Kas, to wander the old town and then into a beach for dinner beside the waves (included)
Volkan, and his driver were brilliant as always, being flexible, making sure everyone was happy and helping anyone out with any problems.
I highly recommend Volkan, as I have always used him over the years when in Dalyan and this trip is perfect, good value for money and a stunning day out.

We booked the Mugla and Akyaka trip as we really wanted to visit Akyaka mainly for the unique Ula design of the houses and to appreciate the role that .Nail Çakırhan played in making Akyaka a  'slow town'. When booking it in the office we had made it clear to Volcan conversation that the history of Akyaka  and the  architecture of  Ula style houses was was the main reason we wanted to  book this trip. He confirmed it would meet our expectations.
So you can imagine our dissapointment when after boarding the minibus and  on the drive to Mugla, the guide ran through the days itinerary and infomed us that he the last time he had visited the Nail  Çakırhan museum, it had taken a up a lot of time waiting for someone to arrive to open it and that as it had been closed up for some time it was very smelly and not great to be in. We were very dissapointed  but took comfort from knowing we would have free time to look around Akyaka. The guide then said to make up for this he would take us to a good place in Kogcigez (near Dalyan) to see goats milk ice cream being made and to sample some. ..... seriously.... as if this would compensate for missing a huge part of why we booked this tour. But hey-ho, we thought let's just enjoy the day.
We pulled in on the way to Mugla at a scenic spot halfway up the mountain to take pictures &  have Cay. It was a tad alarming thst the mini bus driver thought it appropriate to park in such a way that he blocked cars from entering or leaving the stopping place, he reluctantly moved it after some honking from other drivers... hokding up traffic seemed to be something thst he clearly didn't mind doing as when we arrived in a very busy Mugla,  he blocked the main road outside the womans cooperative, we were visiting, leading to more hooks from the queue of irate drivers that built up behind us. The guides answer to this was to tell everyone to hurry up and leave the bus. It was quite embarrassing.
We then went to Melsa, the womans cooperative thst had been started in 1985 to give women who has lost their jobs in the tobacco industry an income.  We were expecting to see basket weaving and the woman working the weavers loom etc. We were not expecting to be led into a shop with some lovely clothing and table runners for sale and with a weaving loom that seemed to be for display purposes. The guide explained the women no longer worked the loom.
Then it was time to go visit the mosque. we chose not to do this as we were with a Turkish friend who showed us about Mugla, we had 45 mins of free time. luckily our friend told us all about the old  Bazaar and it's role in the silk road trade as a place traders from far and wide stopped there with their camels and goods to rest etc. When we met back with the others, they said the guide had not told them this.

it was then back on the very hot mini bus, with its ineffective air conditioning. it was nearing 1pm and as we headed to Akyaka the guide asked if we wanted to go on the river trip first or have lunch. we were all very hungry so said lunch first. The lunch was dissapointing, we had a few mezes and a shepherds salad and were shown a medium sized fish they would cook for 14 people. We each got a small portion  with 3 rocket leaves,  a slice of onion. And a wedge of lemon, which the guide urged us not to put on our fish but on the salad, this was quite insulting that he really thought we didn't know what a wedge if lemon was for... ....
We then got back on the boiling mini bus to go into town for the river trip. As we walked to  the boat, a few of us stopped for ice cream and water, the guide was quite firm in telling us.. I told you I will take you for ice cream later and  civvies us along like we were naughty school children.
After 30 minutes on the boat, we were  then led straight back to mini bus to travel back.. The brochure had said we would have free time to look about Akyaka or cool down at the beach. Sadly we were not able to do either. The the only ula houses we saw were as we sailed by them in a stifling hot mini bus...
By this time we all just wanted to get home, but we had to endure the trip for  ice cream in Kogcigez... ithere was clearly an argument brewing between the driver and the guide as they seemed unable to find the ice cream shop, so we drive around kogcigez for a good 10 to 15 minutes to find it.  When we did it was literally just an ice cream parlour. To be honest it was not even  good ice cream
Then it was back to dalyan. the driver and the guide began to argue, my Turkish is not great but I understood enough to know that the driver said a very rude word and want the guide and all of us to get off the mini bus. Believe me we all wanted to get off as it was unbearably hot...
The guide seemed quite unsure of the tour, he clearly did not know much about the area as he hardly told us anything about the places we were visiting. We were not really told anything about Mugla or Akyaka.  To be honest this tour was both a waste of money and a complete waste of our time. We paid £55 each to spend nearly 4 hours on a stifling hot mini bus, vist a shop with a loom on display, have 30 minutes to explore a very beautiful and interesting town, then be taken for a good but hardly filling lunch, go on a 30 minute river boat trip and then be taken for very mediocre  ice cream, followed by witnessing the driver and guide having a row... we have never not given a tip to either a driver or guide, but there is a first time for everything and I am sorry to say this was it.
I did give my feedback to the business yesterday and to be fair they responded saying they will speak to both the driver and the guide and would get back to me last night. However they have not.  Frankly we will not book with this tour operator again as the whole experience was rather shambolic.

We’ve been to Dalyan many times and love the excursions but this time we were with our ten month old baby and assumed we wouldn’t get to do much. Selim changed all that. He took us on 12 Islands tour and did everything he could to make the day possible for us. We were never made to feel inconvenient. He was so personal and we all had a wonderful day. Our baba even got to go in the sea with us!
A few days later we booked onto the Mugla and Akyaka tour, which was also fantastic and gave us a new insight into Turkey. Would definitely book again with Volkan. Huge thanks to Selim!
