I was unsure if this experience would be worth the money… it was! We booked both the interaction and the walk… this experience with our 8 year old was truly unforgettable!

We paid for a one hour 'interaction' with the elephants but what it really involved was watching a performance by 5 elephants. We then we lined up with everyone else on the interaction to one-by-one feed an elephant, pat its trunk, touch its tusk then down its side etc while they take your photo. It's a very prescriptive encounter, and you literally only get long enough to have your photo taken, not to appreciate the amazing animal you are stood beside touching.
When I booked I imagined we'd be interacting with the elephant for more than the 2 minutes we got, and feeding/touching them at our leisure. The rest of the time is spent watching them demonstrate commands with the elephant watching it eat its pile of leaves and watching the other tourists have their interactions.
Please also note there is somebody sat on all of the elephants controlling them at all times, so they are also in your picture.
Very expensive by South African standards and hence expected more true interaction time, not just watching which is what is largely was.

We did the elephant feeding experience and we will never forget it. Learned a lot about the elephants, was in awe of the elephants, then got to feed and hug them. Just incredible. The team here do a nice job, including getting some excellent photos and videos for you. Excellent experience

Wij deden de interactie om 16u. Hiervan hebben we meer info ontvangen over de werking met de olifanten + weten we dat de olifanten in goede zorg zijn, waarbij het gaat om geredde olifanten.
Het is wel prijzig voor enkel de interactie, maar je hebt mooie/originele foto’s achteraf.
Nu verlangen we nog meer naar het Krugerpark.

Tourist attractions with wild animals does not sound good, but at Elephant Whispoers, they got it right! The kids really wanted to go there and I'm glad we did.
The elephants have lots of space and are very well cared for. They learn commands through a reward system, the elephants are more than willing to interact and show off for guests in exchange for treats.
We were at the elephants with a small group, so it was relaxed and quiet. The guides shared a lot of knowledge with us, it was very educational for all of us! We love the photo of our family together with Tembo ! Very special !

This is one of the places that attracts me most when I visit Hazyview. It’s unfortunate that due to bad weather conditions my partner and l couldn’t do ‘walking with the elephants and riding’. Watching Tembo do his thing was amazing.

I am always hesitant when it comes to the use of wild animals for tourism purposes, but this was truly a wonderful experience.
The elephants are rescues and have a big forest and river to enjoy in between sessions, and the Centre operate on a reward system so the elephants are more than willing to interact and show off for the guests in exchange for treats. It was so calm and pleasant, and we learnt so much from the guides who are so knowledgeable. Worth every penny!

Booked the Sunset Interaction for the 9th Nov 2022. Had the most amazing time with Tembo and the herd. I have spent a lot of time with Asian elephants over the years but this was my first time to even see an African elephant. They are so much bigger! However, Tembo was such a gentle giant, what a beautiful creature, it was pure joy and a real privilege to spend just a small amount of time with him and the rest of the herd. The sunset ride was just fantastic. to then accompany the herd to their stable beds for the night was a real treat, even if I didn't want to say goodnight to them. I was tempted to bed down with them....lol
Drinks and snacks were served and we watched an amazing African sunset, what a great afternoon that was over far too soon!
I can't wait to come back.

This was a last minute add to our time in Hazyview. We had already seen so many animals on safari and only had a morning left before heading to the airport. (I know, right? We had already seen our fill on safari? Oh poor us. But we really had checked all the boxes and multiple times). Our guide, Nicky, for the Panoramic Tour had suggested and we are so glad we did this. Our Kurt's Safari guide, Fortune, made the necessary calls and made the arrangements. It was so neat to hear about the elephants and then to interact with them. I highly recommend adding this to your trip!

I will be visiting Hazyview in February 2020 and want to explore as much of Kruger and the surrounding attractions including your attraction Elephant Whispers. However, I am very turned off after I read and saw that you provide Elephant rides. Are you still providing this activity? If so, please let me know so it will save me from witnessing animal oppression and abuse. I travel responsibly and do condone elephant rides in any form. Thank you.

Please read my review. I travelled in July and was given misinformation about this place. It is not a genuine sanctuary. Elephants are made to do tricks and provide rides. Please save your money to go on a safari down the road - which supports the rangers who prevent poaching and maintain animals in the wild. Nothing compares to seeing these magnificent creatures in the wild. You will be disappointed and outraged. Please avoid.

Yes it is possible you can brush the elephants. They actually ly down so you can feel them, touch the ears & body.
