This was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had! I would recommend doing the Indian Venster hike which was filled with breath taking views and adventure. Our hiking guide Mike was an absolute legend filled with abundant knowledge about the mountain and Cape Town in general. Mike’s fun, friendly attitude made the essence of the trip exciting and fun! During some of the more challenging parts of the hike where we needed to scramble, Mike guided us exactly what to do which left us all feeling extremely safe which allowed us to enjoy this hike to the fullest. I went with my friend and we met another 2 ladies on the hike who we all became great friends by the end of the trip. I would highly recommend the guided hike by Hike Table Mountain. Thanks Mike and Riaan for the hike of a lifetime :)

Incredible experience and great guides

My girlfriend and I did two hikes of Table Mountain and both experiences were amazing. The routes provided incredible views and were both really enjoyed the challenge of hiking the mountain. The guides (Riaan, Steph and Matthew) were brilliant - supportive, encouraging, knowledgeable and accommodating to us at all times and really made us feel safe at all times. We would, without doubt, book further expeditions with them and thoroughly recommend their services to anyone looking to go up the mountain

Great hike, gorgeous views

This hike was fantastic!! We did hire a guide as the trail is not well marked. We started at 4:30 AM and used head lamps until the sun came up.

As a reference point. I am 60 years old. I walk about 4 miles a day at home on paved paths.

I hiked in Keen hiking sandals, these allowed me to push my feet into smaller crevices when doing the vertical rock climbs where there are no staples or chains.

This hike is NOT as difficult as some make it out to be. Do not pass it up based on reviews that say otherwise. Took 4.5 hours to reach the top. Worth every step.

Climbing Table Mountain

Our family had a great trip up Table Mountain. Our guide, Steph, took us up the India Venster route, which was quite challenging, but she was very patient, stopping regularly to take in the views and helping any stragglers through the tough bits. It was a great morning and we would do it again in flash!

Amazing Experience with Riann!!

Riann was our guide in Januaury of this year. We had orignally planned on taking the easier route (Platteklip George) up Table Mountain because I have a fear of heights.

Riann is very friendly, trusting and knowledgeable when it comes to hiking table top. From the moment Riann picked us up from our hotel, I knew we were in safe hands.
He spoke to me about the different routes and how each route differed depending on each persons fear level when it comes to heights.
He then talked me through the India Venster route and how he helped and supported a number of people along this route throughout his years. He also spoke about the breathtaking views and how amazing you feel when you reach the top.
I then decided I wanted to get out of my comfort zone and take the India Venster.
Riann was absolutely amazing, encouraging and supportive throughout. We also had some super interesting conversations and laughs along the way.
Extremely thankful to Riann for being our guide, for giving me courage to get out of my comfort zone and for getting us to the to the top safely.
A truly amazing experience I will always treasure.

Great Experience with Mike

We booked to climb table mountain with 'Hike Table Mountain' and we did not regret it! We were collected from our hotel by our guide Mike, and we instantly knew we were in safe hands. Mike was very knowledgeable and gave us so much information and facts throughout the hike. It was a great morning and a highlight of our Honeymoon in South Africa.

Amazing day hiking table mountain

My husband and I hiked the Kasteelspoort route with Johan and it was amazing!!! Johan was so fun and knowledgable. He was personable and it felt like we were hiking with a friend. We didn't want to say goodbye at the end!!

We did not want to worry about getting to the mountain or finding the right route on our own so this was a great option for us - Johan picked us up from the hotel and lead us through every step. We also were not confident in our hiking skills so it was great for the experts to pick the right route for us. Riaan was communicative to set up our hike and the whole process was great. Highly recommend, we will definitely do a different route with Johan if we are back in Cape Town!!

Fabulous hike up Skeleton Gorge route with the amazing Riaan. Everything was on point pick up, the hike, level of care and he is an expert on Table Mountain so lots of tips and info. I was alone but joined 3 others to make us a group of 4. Highly recommend!

Amazing day on Table Mountain - highly recommend!

I had high expectations for this hike, and was not disappointed! It's a beautiful, less visited side of the mountain with spectacular views and varied scenery. Johan was a brilliant guide, giving us loads of interesting information about history, flora and fauna on the way. It's a steep route so you need a reasonable level of fitness or be prepared to push yourself, but it's well worth the effort.

Great outfit and great guides

In September 2023, Johan led us on a private hike up Kasteelsport in challenging weather conditions. We had originally planned to do a different route, but given the inclement weather, Johan recommended the change. That's a primary reason we signed up with a local guide- the guide's knowledge of the mountain in various weather conditions. We wanted a challenging but safe route. It was a great hike despite the weather. Johan's knowledge of the mountain trails and the local fauna made this a great experience. We highly recommend Johan and Hike Table Mountain. Their website has very helpful descriptions of the various trails and guidance on fitness requirements, etc. Riaan was also helpful in helping us finalize a plan.
