Superb experience with my son

My son (13) and I had a great time on the Uruguay River hunting Golden Dorados! We were picked up on time at 3am and returned to our hotel in BA in the early evening. Alejandro is a very interesting person so the 6 hours spent driving was very informative and fun. His stories made the time fly by. On the water, we were treated to snacks and beverages as we moved around the river system. It’s not prime fishing season but the guides’ experience and knowledge of the area made for a successful day. The equipment was very good with a wide selection of lures. I have accessibility challenges and the guys made it all possible. They were considerate and helpful (thank you!). As for the experience as a whole - it was top quality and the memories shared will stay with us forever. I would not hesitate in booking any of Alejandro fishing trips after this first one.

Alejandro cares about your fishing experience

I booked a fishing trip with Alejandro, but we decided to cancel it. I'm leaving a 5-star review because Alejandro let me know in advance that fishing conditions were not good and did not expect us to catch any fish for the time I was in Buenos Aires. He offered to cancel and gave me a full refund. I hope I'm able to fish with Alejandro the next time I'm in Buenos Aires!

Einmaliges Erlebnis

Ich war geschäftlich während des Lockdowns in Buenos Aires... da kam die Idee das Wochenende mit angeln zu verbringen... kurz geprüft was geht und Kontakt mit Alexander aufgenommen... der machte mir sofort das Angebot mit mir nach La paz (500 km nördlich von buenos aires) zu fahren und golden Dorados zu fischen... er holte mich um ein Uhr nachts ab und wir fuhren zu zweit nach La paz... normalerweise nimmt er den megakomfortablen Nachtschlafbus... nur der fährt in corona Zeiten nicht...den Einsatz fand ich schon mal sensationell... Zudem ist Alexander ein sehr angenehmer Zeitgenosse mit dem man sich auch sehr nett über alle Probleme der Welt und vor allem auch Argentiniens unterhalten kann... am nächsten Morgen angekommen ging es sofort los... die Saison war nicht optimal ( am besten ist wohl Juni und Juli da ist das wasser klar) aber Alexander und der lokale Guide kurvten mit mir unermüdlich durch die Ausläufer des Panaras Flusses und durch das Delta eines einmüdenden Flusses... wir sahen jede Menge jagende Dorados nur an den Haken gehen wollte nix... Fliege, Wobbler und lebende Köder... wir versuchten alles... uns gingen "lediglich" jede Menge eines Piranhaartigen Fisches an den Haken... Ich fand daa such erstmal ganz OK... wobei das wohl eher der Flussbarsch der Argentinier war...Abends dann wieder Netz Essen gewesen und mit Alexander die Probleme der Welt ausdiskutiert....

Am nächsten Morgen dann der erneute Angriff... wir fuhren sehr lange mi dem Boot bis wir eine ausichtsreise Stelle erreichten... und tatsächlich innerhalb kürzester Zeit fingen wir 8 golden Doridos... was für ein schöner Fisch...

Am Abend ging es dann wieder zurück nach Buenos Aires... 48 sehr anstrengende Stunden mit unvergleichlichen Erlebnissen und netten Menschen lagen hinter mir als im um ein Uhr Nacht völlig fertig in.mrin Bett viel...

Fishing Trip

To all my USA and South America friends that love to fish and would like to visit Buenos Aires (or live here) for a guided fishing trip, Fishing Buenos Aires (Alejandro Pozzi) are Pros hands down. Alejandro grew up passionate about fishing and even fished in the US for several years while he played college soccer in Missouri. Give him a try, you will not be disappointed. Great fishing, very nice boats, incredible food, high end rods and reels and most importantly he and his crew are very very safe and speak English.

Great time with incredible guides

My brother and I went out to La Paz with Alejandro in December for 3 days. First, the overnight bus is comfortable and we slept well both ways. It was an incredible experience - Alejandro knows the river inside and out and had us on fish the entire time. Caught dozens of dorado over the 3 days. Hotel is comfortable, has a nice pool, and a very nice staff. If you want to catch golden dorado, this is your guide!

A mother’s great day fishing with my boys!

I had a fabulous day with my two teenage boys (12 and 15), Alejandro and the very charming and knowledgeable guide. When I found Alejandro through TripAdvisor I was skeptical whether the reviews could really be true. After a day with both my boys having a great time (despite a very chilly, foggy start) I wholeheartedly concur that this is a great way to spend time when in BA. We are now thinking of booking the overnight trip at the fishing lodge when next in BA. Thanks Alejandro for your professionalism and great service! PS: For those who worry about giving passport details (including birth date etc) - like I did - this is required to register the fishing trip. Both the one day as well as the longer trip. And also - travel with your passports. It’s totally safe but when the Uruguay police came over with their boat to check, I was happy I had them with me!

Golden Dorado!

As an experienced fisherman I felt inclined to see what Argentina’s Golden Dorado were all about while visiting the country to hunt. Alejandro and his staff were excellent hosts, many fish of several species were caught with both bait and lures, and I experienced memorable lunches cooked ashore over an open fire. The accommodations and dinners in LaPaz were excellent also. Certainly a wonderful excursion for both the novice and the experienced fisherman.

Amazing fishing with an amazing crew

I went to Buenos Aires on a business trip and took some time for myself. Having dreamed of the infamous ‘Golden Dorado’ since childhood, I was ecstatic to find this guide through TripAdvisor. I got in touch, and easily set up my two-day fishing trip.

Alejandro was very flexible when it came to scheduling, and very upfront with the details. He also was very thorough in detailing what to expect and what to bring.

Fast-forward to my actual trip, and it was an absolute success! Alejandro met me at my hotel and was with me the entire journey to our fishing waters the next morning.

Day 1 was as tough as it gets when it comes to fishing- cold, very rainy, and very windy. Still, Alejandro and his guide Anibal made sure to keep me dry (even lending me some of their own gear) and land some fish! They walked me through technique and pointed out every single spot to cast. We got some pretty nice dorado that day, and I was stoked, but little did I know the best was yet to come.

Day 2 was much more pleasant- slightly overcast but dry, with glass-like water without any wind at all. We went to a different area and had an action-packed morning. Caught some nicer fish than the day before, so I was already thinking the trip was over, when I had a heck of a surprise... a behemoth dorado hit my line not once, but three times! Set the hook and the fight was on! It was an angler’s dream battle, with the fish jumping 10+ times and going head-to-head with me and my tackle. When we got him on the boat, I was amazed with his size and rewarded with a nice picture for memory.

All-in-all Alejandro did a great job as host, and Anibal as the guide and captain. They really know their waters and there are some beautiful fish to catch. The meal they prepared was delicious, accommodations comfortable, and trip memorable. I hope to fish with them again.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
