This was a great find. We spent about 2 1/2 hours here. It was very informative and educational. Recommended for all ages.

A friend and I spent the day touring the museum and found it very interesting. What I was most impressed with was at the shoot out show. There was an elementary school group there. The gun show was fun but what I loved was the Gun Safety talk the Mike gave to the children. It was the best I have ever seen and really held the kids interest and kept them engaged with the conversation.. This would be a great talk at all schools.
The area of the museum is large and a lot of walking. Beautiful area. I only wish there were more signs on the buildings and history of each. I would of liked to learn more about the building and equipment in some of them.

Just popped in to visit before my flight back home and was pleasantly surprised by how much the impact the exhibits had on me regarding my sense of American pioneer life. Not just did the park help me to understand how self reliant the people living during that time had to be, but also gave the sense of a close nit community that existed in small towns of the era where everyone knew and helped each other survive and hopefully in time prosper. Not forgetting the very comprehensive telephone museum which was a treat in its self.

Could of been great, but it was really so-so experience. Beautiful settings. Lots of dressed up employees, but most of them just sit or stand there talking to each other about their personal day to day business and have absolutely no interest to interact with guests. There were just 2 dressed employees that at least tried to interact. I’m not sure why is that? I have been to several similar places and those actors are usually playing their role and really engage you with their stories and conversations. What is wrong with this place?

This wasn't a bad history park. However, I went with my dad during the day in late May and it was very much dead. We were probably the only ones in the park. I was expecting to see some people in living history consumes but was a little disappointed when I did see anyone. It was essentially a self-guided tour. It was interesting to see the buildings, at least the ones that were open. Some buildings were closed and we very much had to peek through the windows to even get a glimpse. The proximity of some of the outer buildings was very far and it took a bit to get there. We brought portable water bottle and were looking for fill ups in the front office but there wasn't any. After we got to the farthest building we ran out of water and was quite thirsty. I can only assume what this place is like during its peak season.

I generally love history museums. This one is OK. Distance between some exhibits is a long way. Just didn't understand why. There didn't seem to be any reason for the long distance. A couple of the buildings were closed during our visit. They have an area for a gunfight, but it wasn't operating during out stay, would have been a nice touch. Looked like they used to have some sort of rides also, but no longer operating.
Thankfully, we were there on a day when there weren't any school tours. They said they had had several very busy days previously with several school groups. Biggest attraction is the telephone museum. Very interesting! You can even buy very cheap old telephones. Found just what I needed to add to my collection. Beautiful and amazing bar from an old saloon, too bad they didn't have enough help to actually operate a bar in there.
I recommend going first thing in the morning before it gets too hot. Only need 1-1/2 to 2 hours to see.

The day of our visit there were very few guests on the property but that only enhanced our experience. We truly enjoyed reading the various stories and viewing all the 19th Century buildings. Someone put a lot of work into this project. "Connie" is a gem, and she made our visit even better. Her kindness and welcoming spirit is a valuable asset to this facility. We enjoyed chatting with her and she was actually the highlight of our excellent visit.

I really wanted to like this place but I just felt like it wasn't very interesting. We visited on a Sunday so that there would be more going on (people dressed up, reenactments, etc.). We visited a couple of small buildings and their decaying haybale maze on our way in. We then wandered through the main part of town and saw lots of people dressed up and camped out but I have no idea what was going on because no one was interested in engaging with us or any of the other visitors. I am guessing that these people were not volunteers or employees but in general, once we go inside the park, there was not much to do or see. After about 40 mins we cut our losses and moved on to other attractions in Phoenix.

My wife and I recently visited the museum. Being from the east , the living history museums that we have visited focused on an earlier period of time. After we parked , we entered the village area by passing through a building that housed an impressive display highlighting the development of the phone with a small portion also addressing the telegraph.
There is a collection of authentic and reproduced buildings that are set in a landscape that felt like our impression of what late 19th century western towns looked like.
Some of the buildings had volunteers that were very helpful. We enjoyed talking to them and wandering through the site. The entire experience could be improved with more staff but we understand that we were there in the morning of a typical week and there might still be some recovery from pandemic concerns.

The village has about 30 structures, some spaced a bit of walking apart. The doorways are gated so viewing is from doors and windows. The onsite printer gave a demo. There were two areas of small farm animals. The buildings definitely have not been refurbished so are very authentic. Might have been nice to see other docents that could talk about the time period or structures. There is a gift shop with limited snacks for sale. The telephone history museum is a must see. Admission price is reasonable. Allow 2.5 hours to see it all. The stunt show was not offered on the Sunday we visited but there was a musical performance in the onsite opera house.
