Disappointing visit. We paid close to $80 for two of us and only got to see a few animals. Definitely not worth the price and would not visit again. It was a Tuesday. Some areas were closed, some being renovated. We love zoos and have visited many. This was a flop.

A really good day out.
Highlights are the Arizona animals exhibit that features a huge collection of rattle snakes and lots of other native fauna.
The catering options are not great.
Otherwise it’s well worth a visit.

Last time we will ever go to Phoenix zoo. Most unpleasant zoo trip we have ever had, except for the carousel worker. She was super nice and sweet. We were consistently harassed by other employees.

Very nice large zoo. Plenty of animals, plenty of walking. We went in April and by the middle of the day most animals were seeking shade. As were the humans!!! Be sure to bring sunscreen and an insulated waterbottle!!

This zoo was not a good choice for the grandkids. There were not too many animals. Not worth the time or admission money. The kids were 4 and 6 and bored to tears.

We went around 10:30 AM and it was about 80°F. The zoo was beautiful and easy to walk but didn’t offer much shade from the hot Arizona sun. It was also under construction so many of the animals weren’t out. We didn’t get to see the elephant at all. The walkways were paved nicely and there were plenty of spaces to view the animals. They also had dinosaurs at the zoo - animatronics. Our 17 month old didn’t really care for them but some of the older kids we saw really enjoyed them.

I've been to many great American zoos and this was definitely NOT one of them! Everything from the poor overall layout to the lack of signage to the small variety of exhibits made this visit a bust! And the main attraction? Most of the enclosures had one OR FEWER animals in it! Absolutely terrible! Thankfully we didn't have to pay the outrageous regular price because the website stated we could save 5 bucks each by asking for senior discount (something that is not stated anywhere at all at the gate). What a shameful disappointment.

The perfect zoo! It’s huge with a great variety of animals and enclosures, including some you can walk into and see the animals face to face! Just remember to check that the temperature isn’t 120 degrees before you get your tickets

We had an amazing time walking around the zoo. Great signage for heading us in the right direction, great staff that really took the time to share their knowledge about the animals and how the zoo has cared for animals for the years. There are many spots to have a picnic or grab a bit in one of their food venues.

This is probably the WORSE ZOO I've ever been to in 60 years of going to zoos. You pay $160 to get in the door and then they try to charge you for everything you do once your inside. This wouldn't be so bad If they actually had something to see. The exhibits, if they're open usually just have one haggard animal to see that look like their on their last legs! You probably would see more animals at a pet store! Save your money, go to the McCormick Train Park which is much better!

What can a 15 month old toddler do? I have the family membership and with so much closed, including the petting zoo, it really has been a waste of my money, sorry.

They do have a children's play area where the littles can run around out of the stroller. The animal exhibits often have a clear vies for for those in strollers, wheelchair or scooters.

If you are eligible for food stamps and have an EBT card you can get in for under $5. I think you can bring 3 people in with you. A senior yearly pass is a great deal also.
