Angel Delgadillo ist über 90 Jahre alt und der Retter der Route66. Seinem Engagement ist es zu verdanken, das die historische Route 66 weiter existiert. Der Frisör ist Initiator und Mitbegründer der Route 66 Association - der Shop und der Imbiss ist Pflichtstation. Natürlich muss man hier Souvenirs bei seinen Kindern kaufen und einen Snacl geniessen. Gibt auch viel zu sehen.

One person can make a change! Instead of letting his little town of Seligman, Arizona along old Route 66 die out after being bypassed, Angel Delgadillo organized and created a Route 66 Society that has helped save a few little towns and a lot of history.
His original barbershop is the location of this unique shop. It is packed with history of the town, photos, souvenirs, etc. It is a fun place to visit.
Of significance is the fact that John Lassiter of Pixar movies fame visited this town, visited Angel and used what he learned to create the concept of "Radiator Springs" for the movie "Cars". Walking around the town you can picture how Lassiter developed his concepts and vision.
Across the intersection is Angel's brothers unique cafe and ice cream shop.
This town and the shops in it are a step back in time when the original Route 66 was a major artery of business and travel.

We couldn’t come to Seligman without coming in here.
You are immediately greeted by a friendly face and made to feel welcome.
Whilst this is a gift shop I was more interested in the history and Angels fight to keep the Mother Road. They have created a great area within his barbers shop for this very purpose and it was lovely to read all about his crusade.

This was a great stop on our trip across the US. They have a lovely gift shop, staff very friendly and clean rest rooms.
Was a barber’s , you can get your photo taken in the barbers chair, lot of memorabilia and history of how Angel worked to preserve the original Route 66 as an historic route.
Can get very busy, was when we were there, if bus tours stop, but don’t let it put you off visiting.
Another highlight of our US holiday.

If you love Americana, Disney's Cars or anything Rt. 66, Angel & Vilma's Original Route 66 Gift Shop is a MUST see! Our family traveled the entire Rt.66 from Albuquerque, NM to Needles, CA and this was by far our favorite stop. Angel's son in-law Mauricio greeted us when we walked in, asked where we were from and invited us to explore all around the store. While some stops on 66 would not speak to us, and acted like our even being there was a bother, Mauricio made us feel at home and welcomed. He loved that our family respected and loved the magic, beauty and nostalgia of the old Mother Road. All of that past and present American greatness has been persevered in this classic family fun shop on 66. Our family first found out about this gem while searching for Rt.66 content on YouTube. We found Justin Scared's RandomLand channel that showcased this American Icon and we knew we had to visit. I will include a few pictures, but nothing does this slice of American pie justice like actually stepping back in time and meeting Mirna, Clarissa and Mauricio! I want to say Thank You to the entire Delgadillo family for welcoming my family and for preserving an iconic moment in Great American History. So jump in the family Truckster, put on "Get Your Kicks On Rt. 66", and head down the Mother Road to Angel & Vilma Delgadillo's Original Route 66 Gift Shop!!!

ラスベガスからレンタカーでグランドキャニオンに行った帰りにルート66を走りセリグマンに行きました。映画カーズの舞台の街でテンションが上がりました。お店でお土産を買ったらキーホルダーと絵葉書をいただき嬉しかったです。

Les boutiques de souvenirs sur la 66 sont nombreuses. Certaines sont devenues mythiques et des "place to be". J' y ai été faire un tour comme beaucoup mais j'ai eu le sentiment qu'elle était très (trop) commerciale. Les prix sont fort chers. J'ai retrouvé des produits identiques (dont des casquettes 66) plus loin dans mon voyage à des prix fort inférieurs. Si je ne regrette pas de l'avoir visitée, je suis sorti avec un avis mitigé....

Für mich, der Nabel der Route 66. Die Geschichte von Angel lässt diesen Ort zum Mythos werden und die herzliche Begrüssung seiner Tochter, Angels Geist immerwährend da sein.

Yes, Angel & Vilma's is a gift shop, but it's a special gift shop. What makes in special it's history. It's here where Angel led his fight to get the Mother Road designated as Historic Route 66. Yes, it's well worth stopping. If you're going to pick up some Route 66 memorable, this is the place to do it.

Four of us stopped to look for Route 66 articles. Great place, picked up two shirts and a parka. Spent some time talking to the gentleman who helps run the place. He was super informative.
