Not too easy to get close to the main railway station. Depends where you live and how far you are prepared to walk. Very good paths all the way around the lake. Have a look at the 'Moovit' website which shows the bus routes closeby. Brownhills West on the A5 is probably the nearest bus terminus in the south but it is then a 20 minute walk to the Chasewater Innovation centre. All the locals know the shortcuts. You could give the centre a ring because they may know a local bus route. Other bus routes run through Norton Canes to the west of the lake and some run through Chasetown to the east. Remember to check out the train timetable by ringing the Chasewater West railway station. There is an excellent cafe there which closes at 4.00 every day. Hope this helps.

I think they are open during school holidays during the week but normally there main open hours are weekends as far as I no but you can definitely walk around and view the engines at weekends there's a little coffee shop there too
