I have been looking forward to coming back for the Rock Inn for ages. There is nothing more that I love after a lovely walk on Dartmoor than a ham and cheese ploughman’s and a pint of cider!!
I’ve been here several times before and on one of the profiles for The Rock they are still using my Ploughman’s picture as their cover photo!!
So last week I finally got to come back for what I was hoping was going to be an awesome lunch. How wrong I was!!
Attached to this review i have uploaded two pictures. One of an awesome ploughman’s I had a few years ago and one last weekend. I’ll let you work out which one is which.
Please do not blame covid for this appalling plate. You are better off not serving food at all than the mess that I ate.
Please restore to your awesome norm!! On the plus side my pint of cider was lovely hence the 2 score and not 1.

When we first arrived here we found this Pub and had an evening meal and since been back for drinks. The food is good and well priced. The place is central and easy accessible. The staff are great and they have a good Covid policy in place. This is a good all rounder for people with children, Cyclist, Taking family for a meal, couples. Basic but very good. Would go again.

Thought we'd come out for our Sunday lunch today but hadn't booked. The young women who met us at the door was helpful and found us a table.
We very much enjoyed our Sunday roast, the staff are really polite and helpful. Lunch was as always lovely. Thank you.

In spite of being busy the staff went out of their way to fit us in when we turned up on spec. The food was good and the Covid measures made us feel safe.

Had a walk nearby and popped in for a drink and sandwiches. Both my wife and myself really enjoyed them. Really recommend the prawn wrap and chicken bacon lettuce baguette wholemeal. Both lovely.

Nice village, most pub staff are friendly, some aren’t and are sticklers for doing things to suit themselves rather than customers. It’s not as friendly to kids and dogs as most pubs in Devon are. It’s not open before 11 which seems odd in a village full of walkers and cyclists who are looking for coffee and breakfast. Food is normally ok for lunch etc. Only tea cakes before 12! It is clean and cared for.

A proper locals pub, Go in the farmers bar listen to storys of local history with the old farmers.
Excellent local ales, Very good freshly cooked local food.

We came today for the first time and had a lovely Sunday roast, my wife had lamb and myself the pork both lovely and plenty on the plate. We found all the staff very polite and welcoming. Be back again for sure.

Stopped in after a Tavistock AFC football game on the way home to have a drink. We were quite surprised at how busy the bars were for a small town like Yelverton. Drinks were standard prices and had a good selection of beer and spirits. Staff were very friendly and there was a variety of seating options. Definitely worth a stop in if you are in the area. Food also looked good so may stop in again for a bite to eat

Walked into the Rock Inn for the very first time on Christmas Day to be met with a friendly welcome.
Ambience of this establishment is very good.
Great selection of drinks, in very comfortable surroundings.
Having had such a nice visit we returned a few days later to find the same great level of customer service.
This will definitely become a regular watering hole.

I have no idea! My wife and I went for a decent meal and some quality time together. We are more computer literate than most but know when to leave it at home. If we were staying the night then, of course, it's a question I would ask as well.
