Went to visit the mill and it wasn't open.
Only open a couple of times a week.
Should be open every day so people can see a working mill.
Looks a very interesting place to visit but the times they are open is just stupid.

As I didn't venture inside, this attractive landmark was, for me, purely 'someting to see' and take a snap of. For those purposes, it was pretty and unusual and constituted one of the brighter points in what is, largely, a rather bleak and seedy town.

Called in here only to find out you couldn’t go round due to Covid! Not sure why that should stop you, there was only us there. Still a great windmill and we bought some flour!

My wife and I stayed at the apartment in the mill complex for a week during June. What a a superb and unique experience! The apartment was most comfortable and in a good location for visiting the local attractions. The owners were extremely hospitable and helpful and added to a most enjoyable week a way from home!!

My husband has always loved windmills and I thought that a week at the Maud Foster mill would tick all the boxes for him. All I can say is that it ticked all the boxes for both of us, as the hosts provided the best self-catering facilities that we have ever experienced. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and very comfortable and there were the little extras provided, such as the loaf baked from the Mill's own flour and the provisions of all the basics (butter, milk, tea, coffee and more) to enable guests to settle in immediately.
We were also treated to a private tour round the mill itself, which is, of course, still a working and very active mill. Richard, who showed us round, gave us an interesting insight into the history of the mill and the processes that are gone through to produce the various types of Maud Foster flour and porridge.
The Mill is sited close to the centre of Boston with plenty of eating places and pubs within walking distance. For those who like things mechanical the Bubble Car Museum and the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Museum are not far from Boston. Ayscoughfee Hall in Spalding has beautiful gardens and a cafe which serves very good lunches, the Hall itself is not open to the public at present.
We had a great time in Boston and can only say what we said to James and Richard, the hosts when we left, which was that we felt as if we had spent a week with friends who had really put themselves out to make sure our stay was the best it could be.

To find a working mill with the sails in motion was delightful. It is also in a good spot to photograph.

We have been passed here many times so today we thought we would call in. Had a chat with the miller who gave us a quick run down of its history. We couldn't visit upstairs because of the virus restrictions, but it was well worthwhile anyway

I phoned to order flour as I know this mill is or was renowned for milling organic flour. I was not informed at that point that they were no longer milling organic wheat. Prior to collection I noticed a post from another customer that they were only notified of the cessation of milling organic wheat at the point of collection which is basically what happened to myself and when questioned I was told I could take or leave it! Might have been better if the owners had made this fact clear to me on the phone. There is nothing wrong with the product they are selling it's just not organic which is what they've built their reputation on.

The property is superbly equipped and the owners James and Richard perfect hosts with lots of ideas and suggestions on how to make the most of our time in the area, Plus a tour of a working windmill was very interesting, i would Highly recommend. .

We have always used this flour and found it to be superb. After purchasing our last batch I noticed a sign on the wall saying that in order to reduce costs the mill will no longer be producing organic flour. This signals the end of our customer relationship with the mill, sad to say.
