Small lake attached to Lake Naivasha with a slightly different character

Great birds and you can get a boat ride from here. We drove over from Naivasha through the private game reserve where antelopes and giraffe can be seem.

I was born around the lake I schooled to kongoni primary school now the lake is source of my income. There are many activities that are being done at the lake including fishing, camping and boat rides which are the major income for the entire kongoni community it's such a nice place

Hidden gem in Naivasha region

Lot of tourists does not visit the Lake Oloidien. There are three lakes in the region: Lake Naivasha, Lake Oloidien and Lake Crater. You could see a lot of birds in the region and have the boat ride.

The lake and boat Tour are a must to do.

The lake is connected to lake naivesha due to high water Level for some years now. Although Flamingos vanished a phantastisch range of birds can be observed. From eagle to pelican. Dead trees in the lake and several Families of hippos make it a magic place!!

Monkeys giraffes Zebra etc can be spotted on the land.

Ask for Steven to hire the boat. He knows Everything!!!

Awesome Boat Ride

We were given a complimentary boat ride ticket by Kongoni Resort where we were staying. We met a gentleman called Davie who was very professional all through the ride. He was able to handle the afternoon waves that were quite high and take us through the length and breadth of the Lake up to where it joins Lake Naivahsa (a consequence of recent rains and floods).

Lake Oloidien is popularly referred to as the flamingos paradise, but we saw few. There are flocks of flamingos on the lake at a distance. Boat rides are ideal. Lake Naivasha's often overlooked smaller sister, Lake Oloidien is a volcanic crater lake whose name is "salty".

Nous avons fait une jolie balade en bateau pendant 1 heure sur le lac. Nous avons pu voir de près des hippopotames qui se baignaient ainsi que de très nombreux oiseaux, très beaux. Ce n est pas l excursion la plus exceptionnelle au Kenya mais c est très agréable.

The secluded lake has a nice beach that offers decent privacy. One is able to see flamingoes and hippos at a close range.

At the far end of the main lake.This small lake sometimes has a concentration of flamingo families.Boat rides here are ideal and you will see enough birdlife.A nice place if you have time to visit.

For those willing to enjoy cool breeze of Lake Naivasha,this is the place to be.There is a restaurant offering affordable food and drinks.There is a big camping site near the lake.Ravellers are protected from hippos through erection of an electric fence.

This is the best place to be for adventure lovers with boat rides also available.
