This site is a little less interesting than the others although there is a row of statues on a very realistic rock face. A boy then accompanies with the lantern inside the cave where there are sarcophagi with skeletons.

These caves are one of several traditional burial sites in Toroja. Our guide gave a good explanation about this place and the way in which matters surrounding death are arranged in this region. An interesting place that tells a lot about the culture

Natürlich werden die meisten sich ohnehin die Londa Burial Caves ansehen. Wir waren aber sehr erfreut, dass es trotzdem nicht überlaufen war und wir alles vorgefunden haben wie vor 25 Jahren. Unbedingt mit Guide und alles erklären lassen - eine faszinierende Kultur, die immer noch heute so gelebt wird.

Una delle caratteristiche dei villaggi Toraja sono I loro cimiteri ricavati in grotte o scavati in pareti rocciose che vengono decorate con effigi realistiche chiamate Tau-Tau che rappresentano i morti sepolti. Le grotte sepolcrali di Londa sono una delle attrazioni del villaggio di Sandan Uai. In un ambiente di risaie poco lontano dal villaggio si nota una parete nel verde. Ai piedi della roccia ci sono due grotte naturali che si possono esplorare con una torcia. L'atmosfera all'interno è piuttosto inquietante con teschi e ossa sparsi.

Le site est très beau en lui même, construit sur le flanc d’une colline. La visite des caves est impressionnante.

Tempat yang tergolong mengerikan tapi sangat unik dan menarik. Bisa berpose dengan tengkorak, tulang belulang dan susunan peti mati sangat unik dan menarik. Jangan takut karena tersedia pemandu lokal dengan fasilitas lampu penerangan.

The first thing you see when you arrive at Londa are wooden effigies of the ancestors known as Tau Tau. The Tau Tau are dressed in colourful clothes and are standing in a kind of balcony carved out of the rock. Outside there are coffins hanging against the rocks.
We entered the burriealcaves with lots of coffins and bones laying and hanging around and hired a guide who had an oil lamp. He guided us through the cave. The kind schoolboys who walked all the way with us, they found us more interesting as foreigners, helped us to enter the slippery cave. A very special experience, as is the whole of Tana Toraja.
Het eerste wat je ziet als je aan komt lopen is het balkon dat uitgehouwen is uit de rots met de Tau Tau poppen van de voorvaderen, gekleed in kleurrijke kleding. Om de zoveel jaar worden deze vervangen. Tegen de rots zijn grafkisten opgehangen en opgestapeld. We gingen ook de grot in, we huurden daar een gids met olielamp voor. Dat maakt het authentieker en hij leidde ons rond. Onderweg hierheen kwamen we schooljongens tegen die voor ons gingen zingen, heel leuk. Ze zijn de hele weg met ons meegelopen en hielpen ons de glibberige grot in. Een bijzondere ervaring, zoals heel Tana Toraja!
