We had such a great time here. We slept with Hendrik and are from family and we have not lacked anything. The room was spacious, clean and fresh. The shower wonderfully warm the bed slept wonderfully. We went out with Hendrik which was a very nice special experience. Henry could tell well and fascinatingly about the ceremonies the customs and rituals. Henry and his family are particularly friendly and nothing was too much to ask. We will definitely come back here sometime. It was a wonderful experience.

Hello, we left at the end of June 2024 in Sulawesi, two adults and our 20-year-old son. I would like to make a very negative comment about Petrus Yuli and his agency Celidotour. Seasoned travelers, this is the first time we have met such a dishonest person. Following the dithyrambic feedback read on the site, we had booked a stay with Petrus Yuli, 4 years ago but due to Covid and health concerns, this trip was only made this year. For 4 years, we did not claim our deposit of 300 euros, aware that this period was difficult for tourism workers. Certainly to thank us for our kindness, Petrus Yuli took us for fools in return! The program has been revised completely down (cancellation of 1 day trek replaced by a day of car with a driver and without Guide), meals taken in the worst warung of the country Toraja and with, once, ban on taking meat, funeral ceremony where he disappeared for hours leaving us alone and without explanation, increase in rates, payment of a transfer where he imposed 2 other people in our car without us our review and charging the other two travelers transportation (double billing) and so on. He was in bad faith during the stay. He charged us 1755 euros for three people for 7 days which finally we reduced to 5! AN EXORBITANT COST TO TOTAJA COUNTRY.
I can only leave a very negative review and especially alert you if you intend to take this Guide. There are so many amazing people in Sulawesi that it would be a shame to risk ruining your stay, as was the case for us, by taking a Guide only interested in money. He doesn’t want to show his country but only to put his pockets full.
A Trip Tip, go your way and avoid Celindotours and Petrus Yuli.

Hendrik gave us an unforgattable insight into the toraja culture and the nature surrounding rantenpao. Having hendrik as our guide was really an asset to our experience we would not want to miss. His english and german is excellent. He also helped us with all different kind of things like laundry and the sim card. We can highly recommend Hendrik

Darius Embatau did a five-day tour through Tana Toraja with us, a couple from Germany. He picked us up in Makassar and drove us safely to Rantepao with good English skills. He and our guide Mr. Arru arranged a big funeral for us in his village. We were guests and experienced a very knowledgeable and experienced guide. Thanks to his experience, he was able to introduce us to many things that we would not have seen otherwise!
After five days, we hired him again for a tour around Makassar. There he showed once again what he was capable of: he had knowledge and was connected with local people. We observed fruit bats up close and climbed into a crystal cave.
We can only recommend him!

We drove through Tana Toraja with Darius for five days. He was really nice, knew a lot, was always punctual and spoke English pretty well. We were 100% satisfied with him and can only recommend him.
After the tour, we hired him again for a trip around Makassar. Here too, he was super attentive, well connected and showed us all sorts of things that weren't in the travel guide. 👍

We spent 3 days with Hendrik in the Toraja countries. We found Hendrik on the Instagram page of well-known full-time content creators. They wholeheartedly recommended Hendrik as a guide for an authentic visit to the Toraja countries (culture and nature), and rightly so! We originally planned to spend 2 days in the Toraja area, but Hendrik immediately advised us to stay an extra day so that we could experience a traditional funeral ceremony. This was an incredibly unique experience! We spent 3 days exploring the traditional authentic Toraja culture and environment (rice fields, caves and nature) with Hendrik. Hendrik himself comes from Toraja and you can really tell that he talks enthusiastically about his culture and birthplace. We hardly encountered any tourists and really got the feeling of being on an "adventure". This was exactly what we were looking for. In addition, Hendrik is above all a very sociable and cheerful person. He shows genuine interest and is also happy to help you further shape your trip through Sulawesi/Indonesia, and can also help you organize this if necessary. We were very happy to have Hendrik as a guide and definitely recommend him!

Siamo stati seguiti da Hendrik per tre giorni in Tana Toraja. È stata un’esperienza incredibile, immersi nella cultura locale. I paesaggi nei dintorni sono meravigliosi. I funerali sono estremamente caratteristici, un po’ forti alcune scene, ma sicuramente qualcosa da vedere!
Abbiamo mangiato e dormito da Hendrik e l’ospitalità è stata super.
La cosa più bella di tutte è stata la disponibilità di Hendrik per tutto, da quando ci siamo sentiti la prima volta fino a quando siamo andati via, ci siamo sentiti a casa!

We stayed 4 days in Tana Toraja and Hendrik organized the end-to-end experience for us including 2 days cultural & 2 days trekking. We highly recommend Hendrik! He is very thoughtful and ensured a smooth experience, he is also very knowledgeable and passionate about the Toraja culture. The nature trekking was also amazing, Rante (our trek guide) was really sweet and took good care of us as we walked through stunning landscapes and villages incl. an overnight stay in a traditional house at mr Simon’s, a very friendly host. All in all, a perfect 4D3N trip priced fairly.
