After an interesting visit to the "high quality" workshop with our private guide, we were ushered to the shop. To be nice, i opted to get two lacquer bangles.
I later discovered that was sold with a defect. The next day that same bangle had a serious scratch. We were told that the lacquerware in that workshop is made to last forever. Beware.

It is fascinating to see how the lacquerware is made and the amount of work and time it takes to make these beautiful items. They do not pressurise you into buying and are happy to share the working of the place.

I had never been to a lacquerware workshop earlier and the craftsmanship and the end products were so impressive. Every piece made there was precious. Hats off to the art and craftsmanship.

Hier werden Gegenstände des täglichen Bedarfes und mehr per Hand hergestellt. Man kann die Herstellungsschritte sehen, Ich fand es nicht so interessant. Wir haben hier auch nichts gekauft. Muss man nicht unbedingt mitnehmen, wenn man in Bagan ist.

ニューバガンの中心部にあります。漆器製作の工程を一通り見学することができます。
注目は薄く裂いた竹と馬の尻尾を編込んだ器に漆を塗り重ねたもので、驚くほど柔軟で軽く、見事なものでした。ショップも併設されていますので、お土産として購入することもできます。

con la nostra guida ,riccardo,ci siamo fermati a vedere il lungo processo x la fabbricazione degli oggetti di lacca.
veramente molto interessante. si capisce l'alta qualità dei prodotti e si giustifica anche il costo che un buon oggetto deve avere.
nella saletta con gli oggetti più costosi abbiamo preso un bellissima scatola che serviva a contenere il tabacco e le foglie di betel.

Cannot describe in words, the whole process is a wonder as well as the skill of the artisans , I learnt a lot from them , the display of the wears are truly amazing, appreciating their artistic ability whenever I visit here , wish to order a set of offering bowl next time
