I personally would not swim in the beach as I do not find the waters clean. However the hotel has a wonderful salt water pool which you will enjoy and be comfortable wearing bikini of your choice.

No sorry, there isn’t a restaurant at the beach at Marari but their sea food restaurant is excellent .

You can get nude when it's dark. Best is after 7pm. Go to the north or south end. Water is warm. If you are lucky you can meet other nudist too. After sunset there is hardly anyone and going nude is possible.

Much of it seems to be ocean plastic as it is highly degraded. The hotels nearby seem to be doing a fairly good job of cleaning up any local waste.

ofcourse you can, you must be mindful, Feb is peak tourist season, so availability of a pool villa may become an issue, unless you book in advance. Hi Marari Beach is very low key for tourists. Nothing like Kovalam – which in my opinion is a good thing! There are a handful of small beach shacks at one end selling things like fresh green coconuts and chai lattes and a few children’s plastic bucket-and-spades type items. Possibly a couple of street-food stalls but I’m afraid I can’t be certain, as we ate at our homestay villa every night. Definitely no beach bars/restaurants selling food or alcohol, such as you’d find on Goan beaches. You can buy alcohol from government run shops - there is one in the village - and this is an experience in itself! Supply is limited per person, but enough to see most people through an evening. 3* plus resorts are allowed to sell alcohol in their bars and restaurants. The beach is just stunning, with a long stretch of soft sand, beautiful sunsets, and quite high surf (whilst we were there, anyway.) Also fishing boats. The atmosphere is very relaxed, with a fair number of larger (expensive) hotels with gardens fronting the beach and lots of homestays around the pretty and sprawling village of Mararikulem and shops selling most things, including snack food but no cafes or restaurants. We stayed at Mayas Boutique Beach Villas for 11 nights and I’d thoroughly recommend both the villa and Marari Beach as a place to chill. It has the feel of a real village, is very laid back and friendly. Maya cooked for us every night and her food was superb! Genuine, home-cooked and from the heart. I believe you can dine at other hotels but we chose not to, as Maya's food would have been hard to top. If you don’t stay at Mayas, if you enquire beforehand, they will accept dinner guests if they have the space. It's a small place with just 5 villas and a gorgeous garden, about 100 metres from the beach. I’ve stayed in Kovalam, Varkala, and Poovar previously. In my opinion, Marari Beach is by far the nicest.
