This is a beautiful beach and I got there on the way back from Preveli Monastery. Hundreds of steps down but very beautiful that's the end of yet another gorge but at the time it was full of water. So unusual to see hundreds of palm trees. You can walk to another beach beyond the hill.

Красивый пляж с красивым пальмовым лесом один из моих любимых пляжей на Крите ! Если соберетесь ехать до него на машине ,то готовьтесь к 300-т метровому спуску и подъему . Спускаться легко , а вот подниматься после релакса на пляже это что то...
P.S. Гуси на октябрь 2021 еще тусуются на пляже)

Decided to go by car which turned out to be the best option As the sea got quite rough with the high winds ,en route we stopped at beautiful bridge over the river and at the monastery which was well worth small detour, 3 euro entry with a lovely small museum.(loads of friendly pussy cats)
3euro for the car park and a steep decent down to palm beach (don’t wear flip flops) The views from above are stunning and something you don’t get by boat . Eventually down at the beach we decided to head up the palm valley twisting and turning snaking up the gorge , stunningly beautiful with crystal clear waters, it was a true oasis . Returning to the beach after a lovely picnic on a boulder on the side of the river we were confronted with hoards of people disembarking off the boats, loads of people swimming but the beach felt dirty , we gave the beach a miss . Oh well now for the climb back up ! Not that bad if you are reasonably fit . On the way back to Plakias stopped off at Skinaria beach which was beautiful .

Zbyt dużo ludzi, brudno, ciasno. Nie polecam. Zamknięto las palmowy - zagrożenie pożarem. Spodziewałam się ładniejszych widoków.

Terrible. Overcrowded with the type of people you don’t like(if you get me, you get me) dirty, noisy, commercial, what you see in the pictures is maybe how the place looks in 5am in October, not in a normal summer day.
They just ruined the place totally, like a money machine for stupid people that eat cheap home fries for 10 Euro.
Seriously, if you are the type of educated person, that like quiet, this is not the place for you, and you gonna spend long time driving, and going down the 1000 steps, then go back up to another normal beach in the area.

Hvis man bor mær Rethymno på nordkreta er der ikke langt i lejet bil til sydkysten . Folk kører pænt og stille og roligt i de bjergrige omgivelser. Tag gode sko på og tænk mere på stedet som en eksotisk vandretur med badestop både i havet og i floden i palmedalen. Der skulle være flest folk i weekenden. Toilettet er nåeh ja græskagtigt så medbring selv papir og dørvagt😆
Stedet er ikke egnet for dårligt gående.

Mooi strand en palmbos, moeilijk bereikbaar via 20 to 30 min looppad redelijk stijl omlaag vanaf parkeerplaats (2€). Let op, dit pad moet je ook na afloop van de dag weer omhoog! Verder net strand en uniek mooi palmbos met gezellig wandelpad er tussendoor. Je kunt goed zwemmen in de zee en in de rustige rivier in het palmbos.

Επιλέξαμε να πάμε από το σύντομο μονοπάτι που όντως ήταν πιο εύκολο από τα 400 σκαλιά. Παρκαραμε στην ταβέρνα Διόνυσος κ μετά σε 10 λεπτά φτάσαμε στην παραλία Πρέβελης. Η θάλασσα πολύ βαθιά. Όχι τιρκουαζ εξωτικά νερά όπως περίμενα. Μόνο το φοινικοδασος κατά μήκος του ποταμού άξιζε. ΤΊΠΟΤΑ ΆΛΛΟ. ο δρόμος μέχρι εκεί τρομερά επικίνδυνος. Πολύ στενός, πολλές στροφές, επικίνδυνοι γκρεμή ,βράχια στο δρόμο πεσμένα. Δεν το ξανά κάνω ποτέ στην ζωή μου ειδικά με παιδιά. 2 ώρες από Ηράκλειο. Και τα τελευταία χιλιόμετρα με χωματόδρομο χάλια, χάλια, χάλια.

Сюда можно доплыть на кораблике за 12 евро от пляжа Дамнони. Место полудикое, но есть таверна. Вода в реке холодная, сама по себе она не очень длинная. У моря - мелкая галька. По пляжу гуляют два забавных гуся.
Сюда следует приехать за экзотикой, лучше в составе экскурсии - много времени я бы тут не провела. А морская прогулка бодрит:)

Ok troppi turisti, troppe barche, troppi rifiuti, troppe vespe... nella settimana di ferragosto cosa ti aspetti di diverso. Il posto è molto particolare, lunga discesa a piedi per arrivare in una spiaggia non tanto grande ma con un fiume e un palmeto così verdi e inaspettati che ti fanno pensare a mete diverse rispetto a Creta. Il posto a me e alla mia famiglia é piaciuto molto, le piscine e le piccole cascate di acqua fresca sono state una divertente esperienza...
