A very interesting place to visit! But be sure to plan your arrival so that you can take part in guided excursions both in the museum and at the observation deck. Then you won’t wonder why there are models of sights of other countries here, what dinosaurs have to do with it, and why you need a pyramid. And the guide, Baba Galya, at the museum, as they say now, made our day! She is simply an amazing storyteller and teacher - all the children left with new knowledge acquired :)

I do not advise. The entrance ticket to the museum costs 1,500 rubles per person. Of course, I understand that the enterprise has state support, but you still have to “control yourself”! Amber is not the Capital yet.

My family and I visited the museum at the amber factory, the observation deck of the amber factory, the amber pyramid and the dino park in August 2023.
What I want to say about this, the price for all this “pleasure” was 3250 rubles. for a family of 3 people.
Let's start with the museum at the amber factory, the tour takes place every hour, which is actually not bad.
In the 1st hall, the guide will tell you the history of the plant, how amber is mined, the history of the amber room, tell you about the directors of this enterprise, who were good and who were thieves and embezzlers, and will show stands with poems of one of the directors’ own compositions (what else to expect in the Amber Museum, isn't it?), they will show you various amber products, the largest amber stones, etc.
In the 2nd hall, a model of the quarry awaits you; they will show you and tell you how it all works.
Let's summarize the museum tour: basically an ordinary tour without any interesting features. The only things that surprised me were the stories about directors (in a negative way).
After finishing the tour of the museum, the next point to visit is the observation deck, the dino park and the amber pyramid. These objects are located 4 km from the museum and here a surprise awaited us. Tourists themselves must get to these sites as they wish, on foot, by taxi, or by public transport.
Initially, I thought that we, as part of the group with which we were at the museum, would get on a bus, kindly prepared by the administration of the plant and go to these objects, but that was not the case. The guys themselves somehow. Well, as they say, your expectations are your problems.
We took a taxi for the second part of our excursion.
Objects are located next to each other. On the right side there is a dino park with figures (as I understand it in life size) of ancient extinct animals (mammoth, dinosaurs); they make sounds characteristic of them. It will be interesting for preschool children to watch.
Opposite the dino park there is an excavator that worked in this quarry, and is now a museum exhibit.
We walked further and saw the hangar, entering it we were surprised by cardboard models of the Eiffel Tower, St. Basil's Cathedral, there were other models of world landmarks, but we had no desire to look at the cardboards. This is not what we came here for.
We pass further and see the amber pyramid. What can you say about this building? The metal frame and plywood enclosing structures are covered with amber. You can go inside and sit on a bench. That's all that can be said. A dull pyramid that does not represent any historical or cultural value.
We walk further and find ourselves at the observation deck of the amber factory. We have a view of the quarry. The quarry is like a quarry, there are no deep workings. You can visit once for general development purposes.
There is also a shop with various amber jewelry on site.
In the end, I would like to say that visiting this facility is not worth 3250 rubles. Where such pricing comes from is not at all clear. If the price was 1,500 rubles for a family of 3 people, there would be no questions. We visited, checked the box and moved on. But 3250 rubles for a dull hangar with cardboard boxes, a nondescript pyramid, an ordinary museum and a quarry is too expensive for me.

The museum is small, there are no particularly interesting exhibits. The Amber Museum in Kaliningrad is much more interesting, and there are more products on display, and more and more interesting things are shown and told about amber. Only a single ticket to the museum is sold, i.e. both to the museum and to the observation deck. The price is 1350, preferential, upon presentation of a pension certificate 750. Moreover, the observation deck is located on the edge of the city, approximately, as we were told at the ticket office, 4 km from the museum at the plant. And you need to get to the observation deck yourself or on foot about 4 km. there and accordingly the same amount back or taxi. The price for such a “service” and a small exhibition is too high. You can’t just see the museum without paying for the viewing ticket. I don't recommend it. Better go to the Amber Museum in Kaliningrad.

We came to Yantarny specifically to visit this museum. The ticket price for an adult is 1300, more expensive than the Hermitage. What will we see for this money? It turned out that a certain dino park and quarry are a bonus to the museum, and all this is located 4 km from the museum; you need to go there on your own. We were not at all interested in visiting the dino park and quarry, but, unfortunately, there is no ticket just to the museum. And I no longer wanted to look at amber crafts for 1300 (and for a family of 4 people I would have to pay 5200). So we turned around and went to the Amber Castle, which is two steps away.

Посещали комбинат в составе группы. Очень понравился музей и гид-экскурсовод, четко, профессионально, поведала интересные факты о добыче и обработке янтаря!

Поразили находки янтаря в Янтарном. Размеры впечатляют. Узнала много интересного о янтаре. В магазинчике рядом с музеем доступные цены, есть косметика на основе янтаря.

Очень советуем посетить этот музей с экскурсией! (она проходит раз в час) Большое спасибо хотим сказать экскурсоводу Галине Иосифовне: она работает на комбинате уже много лет, очень его любит, а потому особенно красочно и детально рассказывает и об образовании янтаря, и о его добыче. Интересно было и детям, и взрослым, и подросткам!
Коллекция музея включает украшения и поделки из янтаря, янтарные самородки, но большое внимание отведено и познавательной части. Всем рекомендуем!

Очень интересный музей, впечатлил и взрослых и детей! Ожидали рядовых «жучков в смоле», но здесь и история добычи, и инструменты, которые можно покрутить-повертеть детям, и примеры работ из янтаря, и даже макет способов добывания (как в прошлом, так и в настоящем!) с движущимися машинками и подробным объяснением как и что. Отдельно стоит отметить профессионализм экскурсоводов!

Вся информация есть у них на сайте, для тех кому это сложно: " Объект туристического показа АО «Калининградский янтарный комбинат» - Выставочный зал «Янтарная палата» и «Смотровая площадка
Приморского карьера» будут закрыты для посещения
31 декабря 2019 года и 01 января 2020 года. В остальные праздничные и выходные дни Объекты туристического показа будут работать в установленном порядке."
