First trip to San Diego/Escondido area. Played The Vineyard at Escondido 9/5/19, 10:45 tee time. Thoroughly enjoyed the course. As a high handicapper, I'm usually taking in the surroundings when playing a course away from home. The views here were very nice, peaceful. A bit of construction on the course #8 is shortened to a par 3 while the fairway is being re-sodded. Both #9 and #11 have portions of the fairways roped off from recent repair. Dumped two in the pond on par 3, #12 being distracted by the homes on the hill. We were in our fair share of bunkers, but each was playable with adequate sand. The staff were all great, and the starter was very helpful. We were only a twosome, and the PoP was exactly at 3.5 hrs. We caught the crowd on #7, and it was pretty slow from there. The rough was more punitive than what we're used too, but we managed to find "most" of our wayward tee balls. The greens rolled pretty true, medium speed. My one and only complaint is not with the course, but with the BALLMARKS NOT BEING REPAIRED! We spent time repairing marks on nearly every green. Not sure how to improve that situation. The weather was great, only 93* for the high. But I did have a laugh when I heard a local complaining about the heat. When I told him I had to wait for the temps to drop to 105* so I could go out a couple weeks ago, he reconsidered his complaints....all things are relative I guess. The drive from SD wasn't too bad, but I need to know who to talk to about interstate traffic around here....hahahahaha. We'll definitely be back.

We booked a tee time but there was a tournament, they reached out to us asking if we didn't mind starting a bit later, they offered us a great deal so we said yes. We would be the first off after the tournament ended which we were, and had a fabulous round of golf @ 6160 yardage for the white tees is was great, and very challenging holes, greens were slightly fast, course was in great condition. Customer service at the bar and in the clubhouse was just wonderful. lots of water holes, and some pretty nice ones at that, we played on a Saturday and were not pushed by anyone, the starter keep next group back by at least on or two holes, great pace. Wind did pick up slightly in the afternoon but over all great weather. Would play here if I had the opportunity again.

I enjoyed playing The Vineyard... Yes, some of the greens were in rough shape and who's greens were not affected with fungus this summer? The course had upfront discounted fees which I appreciated for the condition. Would I play here again? Yes I would. I would have easily have given 4 stars if all was good.

We were wary about booking because of some of the negative comments but only paid $20 inc cart so thought we didn't have a lot to lose. Was v busy but once going pace steady. Interesting course, and some lovely holes on back 9. Greens were been treated which we knew about but was a fun round. Played with 2 great guys and overall a really good time. Everyone was really pleasant and, unless you are a v serious golfer (in which case you shouldn't chose this type of course!), it was a great afternoon. I recommend you take the trip - superb value for money.

We played a round here this week and enjoyed every hole. Pace of play was great after We played around a foursome. Marshall watched them, but did nothing. Beer prices was very expensive/$7 for a plastic cup. That's gouging. The course is in good shape and greens need some work as folks don't fix their ball marks. Practice facility is good too.

I generally liked the course. I played here two days in a row. My main issue is that they lied to me.
I had a tee time for three people. I told them only two of us are going to show up and would that be fine. They said it was totally fine and not to worry about it. Three days later, they charged me for the extra person who didn't show up. When I called to find out why, they said that it was their cancellation policy and that I would be charged no matter what. They told me it was irreversible.
I'm frustrated that they initially lied to me. Had I known about the charge, I would have found a third person to play with us.

this course is fun, it has a few interesting holes. its in ok shape, you can tell its played, the greens have heavy use.

This winery was good. Great sampling!! You can go outside and relax on the chairs with a great view of the mountains in the background will you sip on your wine. Wine prices were fair

Booked a tee time through Golfnow. Price is reasonable for the great condition that the course is in- considering the drought conditions. (The fairways on another area course had mostly dead grass). Paired up with a local who helped considerably. The marshall was also very helpful and told me what to expect. It would be tough to play it for the first time by yourself. Each nine is very different. Uphill (with some blind shots) and downhill on the back and fairly flat but challenging holes on the front. A lot of water and sand on the front nine. The back has a couple of long par 4s (425 & 436 yards from the mid tees). It was an enjoyable day even though I didn't break 90. I'll be back again the next time in the area.

This course was the least expensive course we played at out of 4 in the area and by far the best shape of all. A really nice challenging course that plays to almost everyone's skill level. Beautiful scenic course with a very profession courteous staff. I couldn't have asked for a better day other than a few more birdies.
