Great time and the sky walk is worth the trip to Eureka. Park clean, staff friendly and knowledgeable.

A small zoo with a pretty steep entrance price for non-residents, but if your first time in the area and around Redwoods, we thought the pride of admission was worth it for the Sky Walk experience alone (as long as not too crowded when you visit).
It starts off seeming not very high and suddenly you look down and whoa, you realize how big these trees are and you feel like an Ewok from Return of the Jedi, walking along suspension bridges and also more solid bridges among the trees. Perhaps not for someone desperately afraid of heights, but otherwise a very telling look at how big those trees REALLY are. We loved it.
Since we'd paid for full admission to do Sky Walk, we also took about half an hour to check out some of the unique animal exhibits. Nothing too outrageously special, zoo-wise, but for small children they have a really well-organized farm and petting zoo area that seemed memorable and exceptional.

Partner and I both ordered hot dogs and french fries and after we waited about 30 minutes after ordering I went back and inquired what happened to out meal. Waitress said oh they are ready now. I think we were forgotten. Actually they were pretty good.

I would advise looking into the history of the zoo before a visit for enrichment purposes. Adorable, cute, surrounded by amazing trees. The skywalk was amazing and unforgettable. Have a snack by the flamingo exhibit to top off the day. Worth every penny 💗

Who knew there was a zoo in Eureka CA? It is very small with only a few animal exhibits, but the new bear/coyote exhibit currently being built should be a great addition. My main reason for going was the Redwood Skywalk which is included in the zoo admission price. No parking lot but plenty of street parking.

I love the new Skywalk. I am handicapped, but was able to handle the parts that are not accessible. It's a beautiful new way to see the zoo and experience the trees little sad with rhe price. I grew up in Humboldt, but dont qualityfir a residentprice which is $10. More. Im on a dixed income so it would have been a steep price for me, but my sister, who is a residentpaid..

We came here for the Sky Walk. We walked it a couple of times. Lots of fun. The rest was a cute little zoo. They are building a large bear exhibit under the sky walk that looks to be very nice. Parking is crowded street parking in front of the zoo. The only thing that looked sad was the miniature horses looked miserable in a very small enclosure.

We came to the area to see the redwoods and this place offered a much different perspective of these tall trees. The walk up high among them was amazing! For this alone we felt it was worth the price. One son has fear of heights but he felt secure by the rails and had no problems. The animal selection was nice and added a little something extra. The barnyard area allows younger kids to pet the goats. We all thought it was a charming place (traveling with 2 older teen boys).

Very small and not well maintained. The enclosures were too small. I don’t see how they get any exercise other than pacing back and forth. They were dirty and either concrete or dirt with little grass. What few animals we did see looked so sad. When we left we were completely depressed and felt so bad for the animals.

It’s a small zoo, and the oldest zoo in California. But it’s well done and the animal habitats are not small or old. I do not think it is a destination zoo, but it’s definitely a nice place to stroll and observe the animals if you are in town. The highlights are the red pandas, otters, and spotter owl. The aviaries are cool. There is a sky walk trail, which is a walkway built at a considerable height in the redwoods. It is very cool, but if you have a thing with heights, this might not be for you. You can see all of the exhibits in an hour or two.
