What a wonderful place to visit. Such beauty, so serene, lots of wild life and vegetation with gorgeous flowers. Just look and you can see natural beauty and listen to the wild life sing and talk. It's especially refreshing early in the morning or even late afternoon. Either way you're in for a treat. A must see if you're in the area.

This is a cute little nature center tucked into the corner of Central park in Huntington Beach. Lots of animals, and you will be surprised at how much there is to see and do.

tucked behind the library, it is very well kept, area is small to go thru and the trails are well kept. Depending on the time of year, butterflies, rabbits, squirels, dragon flies, etc.

Fantastic opportunity to view nesting egrets. This year I counted 11 nests and in early April, 6 egrets to date. They are flying in and out and feeding at the lake. The lake view is lovely with many feeding birds since the reeds have been removed. Poppies are blooming along with many other CA flowers and trees. The museum has been cleaned and updated with binoluclars and guides, too. Spend a charming day and then picnic in the park or eat at Kathy Mays or Park Bench Cafe in walking distance.

Different seasons will hold different treasures but the moment you step on the property you feel as if you are leaving the city behind. It is adjacent to a nice city park but i was amazed at how different the enviroment was within the nature center. You feel connected with the natural landscape in a much deeper way than in the park. It is asmall center but has good diversity including wetlands. Good to bird, goo to sit and draw, good to stroll, good to dig in and learn.... great for all ages.

I walk by there from time to time, and sometimes wander in. This place is a pleasure to visit. It’s laid out naturally, with various native plants, and the staff is friendly. I also appreciate the commitment to the environment I’ve heard there’s a resident coyote family living within the fenced-in enclosure, but I have yet to see them. I see it as a pleasant way to while away a quarter of an hour while walking around Central Park.

We went to Shipley Nature Center as an outing with BSA. It is beautiful sanctuary and is such a soothing, relaxing place! I also think it makes a great place for school field trips!
